Bekjon is a certified guide based in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, where he has worked since 2019. He guides and drives personally, using his own sedan, and covers the main Silk Road cities: Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent, as well as trips into Shakhrisabz, the Seven Lakes area, and across the border into Tajikistan.
His specialty is private, flexible road trips that combine driving with city guiding, so travelers see the main sights without juggling separate drivers and guides. He also offers a distinct local experience: a cooking class at his family's village home outside Samarkand, where guests cook plov and see rural life away from the usual tourist stops.
Trips with Bekjon are built around his own car and run as private, personalized itineraries rather than fixed group tours. He is happy to adjust routes and pace, advises on realistic timing between cities, and can arrange add-ons like yurt camping or overnight stays at the Seven Lakes. He communicates directly in English and works out the plan and pricing with each traveler before the trip.
He describes himself as a storyteller as much as a guide, aiming to bring the history and culture of Uzbekistan to life rather than just show the sights.
We had a fantastic guided tour of Samarkand with Bekjon. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history, architecture, and culture, and he shared everything in a way that was both interesting and engaging. On top of that, he was great fun to spend the day with, making the tour both informative and enjoyable. We learned so much and had a wonderful time exploring this beautiful city. If we ever come back to Samarkand, we will definitely book Bekjon again. Highly recommended!
Bekjon was extremely helpful in organising a guide for our day in Bukhara. The guide was excellent.
