This is the world we are excited to share with you 🌿 I'm Fathur from The Jungle Guide in Bukit Lawang and very happy to help plan eveything for your adventure here! We are a team of local guides, explorers, nature lovers, and conservationists who call the rainforest of North Sumatra our home. Growing up alongside the jungle has given us not only a deep understanding of its wildlife and hidden paths, but also a genuine passion for protecting this extraordinary place for future generations. Our mission is to create authentic experiences that allow travelers to discover the wild beauty of Gunung Leuser National Park while making a positive impact on the people and nature that depend on it. What makes our team special is the people behind every adventure. Alongside experienced local guides, we also work with former hunters from nearby villages whose incredible knowledge of the rainforest now helps protect it. By creating sustainable jobs connected to conservation and responsible tourism, we aim to show that the forest is worth far more alive than exploited. This same vision inspires our bird project which is still in it's early stages, but hopefully soon will contribute to rescue birds from captivity and raise awareness in the communities.
