Seven Lakes Trip From Dushanbe
Starts in Dushanbe, Dushanbe, Tajikistan
"Haft Kul" or "Seven Lakes" is the name of cascading lakes among the Fan Mountains in the northwestern part of Tajikistan, near the city of Penjikent. A group of mountain lakes amaze visitors with their bright and constantly changing colors. Each lake has its own name: the lowest lake, which travelers usually meet first, is called Mizhgon. Next are Soy, Khushor, Nofin, Khurdak, Marguzor (the largest) and Hazorchashma (the highest). Seven lakes are in the Fan Mountains, in the gorge of the Shing River. Ancient petroglyphs discovered on the shore of one of the lakes indicate that the lakes are quite old. The lowest lake (Mizhgon) is located at an altitude of 1,640 meters, and the highest (Hazorchashma) is 2,400 meters. The height difference between the lowest and highest lakes is 760 meters, and the distance between them is more than 14 km. The lakes are very accessible to tourists — a dirt serpentine road runs through all seven lakes, and the trip between the first and the last takes about an hour (excluding stops). However, the last part (between the sixth and seventh lakes) is more difficult to drive, and many visitors prefer to walk along this part. You can also go hiking on the road to all the lakes (usually it takes about 2 days) and even further to other beautiful lakes, valleys, and villages. Today, there are several small villages with guest houses for tourists near the lakes (in particular, around Lake Nofin). These guest houses are very simple and allow visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of local life. Camping is also possible in many places.

Hisar Fortress
Starts in Dushanbe, Dushanbe, Tajikistan
The Hissar Fortress, one of the most famous historical monuments of Tajikistan, was built to protect the local population and trade caravans from the raids of nomads. The Hissar fortress still impresses with its power and monumentality, especially after major restoration. The fortress was built about 3000 years ago, during the heyday, when the routes of the Great Silk Road passed near Hissar. The remaining remains of fortifications were built in the XVI–XIX centuries. The Hissar Fortress in Tajikistan is one of the oldest and largest architectural monuments of Central Asia. Now it is an open-air museum with an area of 86 hectares, located on the site of an ancient settlement. It is located 30 km from the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. For a long time, the Hissar fortress served as the residence of the governor of the Emir of Bukhara and the base where the state troops were located. To date, only two cylindrical towers and structures around the main gate, forming a pointed arch and built on the instructions of the emir of Bukhara in the XVI century, have partially survived from the fortress. The fortress was completed in the XIX century. All structures are built of burnt brick. The Hissar fortress was built on the slope of a large hill. A high fortress wall 1 meter thick with loopholes for guns and cannons was built of baked bricks. The main gate has a laconic and simple look, traditional for the feudal military architecture of the Bukhara Emirate. In the large arched opening of the fortress wall there were strong gates, which were guarded on both sides by two powerful cylindrical watchtowers. At the top of the towers there were shooting platforms with a high parapet to protect the soldiers and cut loopholes. There was no decoration on the thick brick walls of this monumental austere structure, but they still looked impressive.

Wakhan Valley Tour 7 Days
Starts in Dushanbe, Dushanbe, Tajikistan
The Wakhan Valley (also named the Wakhan Corridor) is one of the most beautiful and remote places in Asia and the world. The Wakhan Valley is a mountainous region that belongs to the Pamir and Hindu Kush ranges, most of it being part of southeast Tajikistan and northeast Afghanistan. For centuries, the Wakhan Valley was an important principate of the famous Kushan, a great empire that extended from southeast Tajikistan to the Ganges Valley itself in India. For this reason, despite being a very mountainous area, in the valley you find several fortresses located on the top of very high hills, offering the most epic and impressive views ever. Historically, the region served as a dividing line between west and east Asia, so the valley became an important Silk Road route as well. In the 20th century, it also marked a clear border between the Soviet Union and the British Empire. With all this historical context, its incredible landscape, and awesome people, the Wakhan Valley is the ultimate adventure and a place you can’t miss in your journey through Tajikistan.

Iskanderkul - One Day Tour
Starts in Dushanbe, Dushanbe, Tajikistan
The name of the lake in Tajikistan comes from the name "Iskander" (meaning "Alexander") and the word "kul" (translated as "lake"). Some legends say that the reservoir got its name since the Great Alexander visited it during a campaign to India from Central Asia. The lake, located in the amazingly beautiful Fan Mountains, has a rather rich and long history. It is believed that it was named in honor of the commander the Great Alexander, whom the locals called Iskander Zulqarnain, which means "Iskander the two-horned" (because of the unusual helmet that resembled horns). The lake located in the northern part of the country, in the Sugd region. The distance from the capital of Tajikistan is more than 180 kilometers along a high-altitude and quite decent highway. Along the way, you can see fascinating natural landscapes with snow-capped mountain tops rushing into the deep blue of the sky. This small piece of untouched land can show a lot of interesting things, including Lake Iskanderkul. There are magnificent blue lakes, fast mountain rivers and picturesque forests. Lake Iskanderkul resembles a triangle in shape. Its area is 3.5 square kilometers. The water depth is 70 meters. The mirror surface of the reservoir surrounded by mountains looks great. The uniqueness of the lake lies in the fact that it is the largest in the mountains and is located at an altitude of more than 2000 meters. The nearby 43-meter waterfall is called "Fan Niagara". It is located on the river flowing out of the lake. There is also a rock with an inscription dating back to 1870, it was left by the participants of the expedition led by the famous Russian traveler and scientist A. Fedchenko.
