Parcourir la Pamir highway était un rêve depuis quelques années qui a enfin pu se concrétiser. Si vous partagez les mêmes aspirations, Tohir est l'homme qu'il vous faut. Plus qu'un chauffeur, c'est un interlocuteur de qualité. S'il maîtrise parfaitement et prudemment la conduite de son 4x4, il est en plus cultivé et connaît parfaitement son pays, sa géographie, son histoire et sa sociologie. Sa connaissance de l'anglais est excellente. Grâce à lui, nous avons pu aplanir toutes les difficultés potentielles des contacts, la population est du reste charmante. Ce pays est merveilleux et encore largement préservé du tourisme, contrairement à l'Ouzbékistan. La vallée de la Wakhan surmontée de l'Hindu Kush puis les hauts plateaux du Pamir sont parmi les plus belles vues de montagnes qu'il m'ait été donné de voir. Last but not least si vous stressez avant la réservation, Tohir est d'une honnêteté irréprochable.

It was a great pleasure to meet and travel with Bénédicte, her husband Alexandre, and their friends Bernard and Véronique during their wonderful Central Asian adventure. Their journey covered Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. I personally had the pleasure of accompanying them during their travels in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, including the beautiful Pamir region. For the Uzbekistan part of their journey, I was not traveling with them personally, but I was happy to organize and coordinate their trip together with my trusted partner, who looked after them during their time in Uzbekistan. Their Uzbekistan journey included some of the country’s most fascinating destinations, including Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Urgench. Bénédicte, Alexandre, Bernard and Véronique were a truly wonderful group of travelers. They were friendly, respectful, open-minded and genuinely interested in the local people, culture, history and traditions. They always brought a positive atmosphere to the journey and were a pleasure to communicate with. I especially appreciated their trust, patience and flexibility. Traveling through Central Asia can sometimes involve long journeys, changing conditions and unexpected situations, but they always approached everything with a great attitude and understanding. For me, being a guide is not only about showing beautiful places. It is about meeting people, sharing experiences and creating memories together. This journey was especially meaningful because I had the opportunity to get to know such a lovely group of people. Thank you, Bénédicte, Alexandre, Bernard and Véronique, for trusting me and my team with your journey through Central Asia. It was a real pleasure to be part of your adventure, and I sincerely hope our paths cross again one day. You will always be very welcome in Tajikistan! Tohir provided a 2009 Prado for our group to self-drive across the Pamir Highway. The car was delivered to us in a clean condition and exactly as described. The car performed well over the rough terrain in the Pamirs and at no point were we concerned about the integrity of the engine. We did hit a flat tire somewhere after Khargush where the rocks were the sharpest, but were able to fit on the provided spare with the tools given to us. At the Tajik-Kyrg border, we passed through without a problem as all required documents were within the car. Overall, we had an excellent time on the road. Tohir also happened to driving another group on the same dates, in the same direction, and we really enjoyed our short chats with him. He offered us valuable advice on navigating the roads before and during our trip and we felt that communication with Tohir was easy and timely. In addition to arranging the car, Tohir also was able to secure accommodations for us along the highway. It was a great adventure and I would highly recommend Tohir.

I had a wonderful experience traveling through Tajikistan and the Pamir region, and I would highly recommend Mr. Tohir and his team to anyone planning a trip there. Mr. Tohir was extremely approachable, professional, and always quick to respond. He carefully arranged the trip to include all the places I wanted to visit throughout the Pamirs and made the whole experience very smooth. He also arranged my GBAO permit in advance and personally brought it to my hotel, which made everything much easier and saved me a lot of time. A special thank you also goes to Mr. Taha, our driver, and Mr. Naim, our guide. They were excellent company throughout the journey—friendly, helpful, and genuinely committed to making the trip enjoyable. The driving was safe and comfortable, the hotels arranged for us were very good, and they even suggested additional beautiful places to visit that were not part of our original itinerary. Their flexibility, local knowledge, and hospitality made my journey through the Pamirs truly memorable. Highly recommended for anyone planning to explore Tajikistan and the Pamir region.
