Vako is a certified guide based in Tbilisi, Georgia, who has worked in tourism for six years. He plans and leads private day trips and multi-day tours around the country himself.
His main route runs from Tbilisi into the mountains: Jvari Monastery, Ananuri Fortress, the Zhinvali Reservoir, Gudauri and Kazbegi, often with a 4x4 jeep stretch near Kazbegi. He also builds longer private itineraries that take in Borjomi, Tskaltubo, Chiatura and Didgori, adjusting the plan if a traveler wants to drop or swap a stop.
Trips are private and run at the traveler's pace, with Vako driving as well as guiding, so there is no separate transfer between a guide and a driver. He has mentioned using a Jeep Compass or a Mercedes Vito for groups of up to six, and includes bottled water on his tours. He asks travelers for their exact dates early on so he can put together a personal itinerary and quote.
He describes his goal simply: to make the trip safe, enjoyable and show Georgia the way a local sees it.
