Arrive in Bishkek and transfer to the hotel. After a relaxed morning at the hotel we begin exploring the city visiting some of its main sights including Kyrgyz National University, Youth Alley, Kyrgyz National Philharmonic, Statue of Manas and Manaschi, Victory Square, Opera and Ballet theatre, oak park, Old Square, Central Square Ala-Too, Open air art gallery and National Historic Museum or Museum of Fine Arts. Optionally, we can visit Osh Bazaar.
In the morning transfer to Chon Kemin. We drive to Tokmok city where we visit the Burana tower, which marks all that remains of a once flourishing city of the ancient Silk Road and an open-air museum of Balbals (stone warriors). After the Burana tower we continue our trip to Chon Kemin gorge, where we hike. Picnic on the way. Optionally, horse riding. The night and dinner in homestay.
In the morning, we drive to Issyk Kul lake, the second largest alpine lake in the world after Lake Titicaca in South America. Issyk Kul lake is located between the Tien Shan mountain ranges at the altitude of 1600 m. It is 180 km long from the east to the west and about 70 km wide from the north to the south. In the Kyrgyz language Issyk Kul means “Hot Lake” because its water does not freeze in winter. On the way we stop in the Boom Gorge and hiking in the Konorchok Canyon with red rocks formed by wind and rain. After hiking we continue our trip and have a lunch in Boom gorge. Upon arrival optionally visit Ruh-Ordo complex or walk along the shore of Issyk Kul lake. Overnight in guest house.
After breakfast we drive to Karakol and visit an open air museum of petroglyphs in Cholpon-Ata. Then we continue our trip and drive to the incredible Grigorievskoe gorge, where we take small hiking. These two picturesque gorges are connected to each other. After small hiking we have a lunch. Upon arrival in Karakol we stay in guest house.
After breakfast, transfer to Altyn-Arashan with soviet truck, because only this transport can bring us through the mountain passes one of the most beautiful gorges in Kyrgyzstan. Translated from Kyrgyz, Altyn-Arashan means "golden hot spring". Free time for walking and it will be possible to bathe in hot springs. Transfer to Karakol. After dinner we can enjoy a traditional Kyrgyz folk show in a guesthouse. Overnight in a guest house.
After breakfast, we visit Russian Orthodox church and Dungan Mosque in Chinese style. Then, we drive to Jeti-Oguz gorge, which is famous for its coniferous forest, beautiful gorges for hiking, red and sandy formations which are called “Seven Bulls” and “Broken Heart”. Here, we climb a bit and overlook not only snow-white peaks, spruce forests of the Jeti-Oguz valley, but also the entire Jeti-Oguz gorge, reminiscent of the Grand Canyon in miniature. Then we continue our trip to the Barskoon Gorge, where we stop for a short hike to visit beautiful waterfall in the forest. After short hiking we have time for picnic. After picnic, we drive to “Fairytale Canyon”. The canyon is famous for its unique red colors and strange formations. After seeing “Fairytale Canyon” drive to Ak-Sai canyons (Ak-Sai village), where we can take a photo/video (with drone). see a beautiful panorama of the lake and an interesting landscape of the mountainous area. Upon arrival, we can walk around or swim in a lake.
After breakfast we observe the demonstration of golden eagle and kyrgyz sighthound (taigan) hunting. Take pictures with the hunter and his eagle and dog and we departure to Kochkor. On the way we stop for taking a video or photo at the observation point of Ak-Sai canyons from where a magnificent panorama of the southern coast of the Issyk Kul lake and canyons open. Then, start our trip to the Kochkor. Here, we see the process of making Kyrgyz traditional felt carpets and different items from it. And also we can take part in setting up a yurt.
After breakfast, we drive to the Tash Rabat. Tash Rabat is a Caravanserai on the Great Silk Road (Stone Castle) located at the elevation 3200 m. This building had been used as a hotel and shelter for travelers and also underground prison cells for criminals on the Great Silk Road. On the road to the Tash Rabat, we stop in Naryn city to have a lunch. Upon arrival, we explore Tash Rabat Caravanserai. Then, we take a small hike. Transfer to Naryn city. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan - Son Kul Lake. It is situated at the altitude 3016 meters above sea level and surrounded by beautiful mountains. Unlike Issyk Kul lake, Son Kul lake freezes in winter and remains frozen from September to June. Upon arrival Son Kul Lake, we have time to walk around the lake, observe the life of the local shepherds. Overnight in yurt camp (Kyrgyz yurts).
After breakfast, we explore the surroundings of Son Kul Lake. We can walk along the lake, or climb to the top of the mountain, look at petroglyphs, drawings carved on stones more than 2000 years ago. Optionally go for horse riding. And taste the national Kyrgyz dishes: besh-barmak (“five fingers”), traditional nomad bread – boorsok and mare’s milk. You also participate in baking the bread, watch the process of milking mares and try to make kumyz (fermented mare's milk).
After breakfast, we have free time to once again enjoy the views around the lake. Optionally you can go for horse riding around lake or just relax and soak up the tranquil atmosphere of the Son Kul lake. After lunch we drive to Kyzyl-Oi village. Kyzyl-Oi is located in a narrow gorge on the banks of the mighty Kokomeren River, about 40 km south of Suusamyr on the way to the village of Kochkor and Son-Kol Lake at the level 1800 m. and surrounded by the high red mountains that give the place its name. "Kyzyl" from Kyrgyz language means red color. Overnight in homestay.
After breakfast we depart to Bishkek through the mountain pass-highway Too-Ashuu (3586m above sea level). Stop in the Suusamyr valley, where you can taste Kumys (mare's milk). The road from Bishkek to Suusamyr is one of the most beautiful in the country. It is very winding and you can see a huge amount of green pastures of the Suusamyr valley, where shepherds graze their cattle. We also stop to see a panoramic view from the Too Ashuu pass to take photos. Arrival in Bishkek. In the afternoon, free time for rest, shopping and exploring the city on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, after breakfast we drive to Ala-Archa Natural Park. Ala-Archa Natural Park is located 40 km from Bishkek at the altitude 1600-4860 m. It is a popular place for outdoor picnics, hikers, horseback riders, climbers and skiers. On the territory of this park are located more than 20 small and large glaciers, around 50 mountain peaks, and 2 small rivers, which originate from glaciers melting water. Ala-Archa presents as flora, including Tien Shan firs, Semenov firs, Kolpakovsky and Kaufman tulips and rare alpine edelweiss flowers; and fauna: eagles, mountain goats, Marco Polo sheep, rare, but well known, snow leopards. Here you will enjoy the smell of real juniper. After hiking transfer to the hotel.
