Arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport, where you will be met by your guide holding a “NoNa Travel Mongolia” sign. Our first stop is the famous Gandantegchinlen Monastery (Gandan Monastery), one of Mongolia’s most important religious centers. Founded in 1727, the monastery was severely damaged during the Stalinist purges in 1937 but was partially reopened after 1944. After a delicious first Mongolian lunch, we visit the Chinggis Khan Museum, which offers a fascinating journey through the history of the great ruler and his era, featuring numerous treasures and artifacts. We then continue to Sukhbaatar Square, which played a central role in the Mongolian People’s Revolution of 1921. Here you can also see the Government Palace and the impressive statue of Chinggis Khan. The day concludes with a cultural performance of traditional Mongolian folk arts, where you will experience throat singing, traditional songs, and contortion.
Today we travel to Baga Gazriin Chuluu, one of the most impressive rock formations in the Mongolian Gobi. This mystical place is renowned for its fascinating granite formations, rising from the desert in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Some of the rocks reach heights of over 20 meters, creating a breathtaking backdrop and a unique atmosphere that captivates both geologists and nature lovers alike. The day ends with a relaxing stay near Baga Gazriin Chuluu, where we can enjoy the silence of the desert and watch the colors of the sunset as they bathe the rocks in warm light.
Drive to Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), an impressive cliff formation in the northeastern part of the Mongolian Gobi. In the evening and at sunrise, we can witness a breathtaking display of natural colors. A walk among the beautiful cliffs and hills reveals the unique beauty of this site. The rock formation stands about 60 meters high and stretches 400 meters wide. It is composed of sedimentary rock, shaped over centuries by wind and weather, giving the steep slopes their striking and unusual appearance. Hiking through the area offers an up-close experience of the pristine nature.
After breakfast, we drive to Umnugovi Province (South Gobi), the largest province in Mongolia. In Dalanzadgad, the provincial capital, we enjoy lunch and visit the “Gobi Nature and History Museum”, where you can discover enormous dinosaur skeletons and fascinating artifacts. After a short shopping stop, we continue to the famous Vulture Gorge (Yolyn Am). We hike approximately 4–5 km through the green valley and along the rocky gorge, where a year-round “glacier” of snow and ice endures even during the hot summer months. This area is part of Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park.
Today we head to the spectacular Khongor Sand Dunes, also known as the “Singing Dunes” of the Mongolian Gobi. These enormous dunes are a true natural wonder, offering breathtaking panoramas with their majestic size and gently rolling shapes. They stretch for about 180 km and reach heights of up to 400 meters in some places, making them the tallest sand dunes in Mongolia. After leaving Vulture Gorge, we drive through a beautiful mountain gorge. With some luck, we may spot wild animals such as ibex and wild sheep, and we will come across an impressive narrow gorge that follows the slender stream of the Gobi River—a passage so tight that only one vehicle can carefully pass at a time. In the evening, as the sun sets, the dunes display a stunning palette of warm red hues. Enjoy the sunset and the cool desert air as we conclude the day in this unforgettable setting.
Early in the morning, we experience a breathtaking sunrise over the Gobi, with sand dunes and blue mountains in the background. We then drive to the famous Flaming Cliffs (Bayanzag), renowned for their vivid colors and significant fossil discoveries, including dinosaur eggs. The American paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews named the cliffs “Flaming Cliffs” in the 1920s. The desert views are spectacular, and nearby you will find a small saxaul forest, which plays an important role in protecting the Gobi from desertification. We then continue to the Ongi Monastery ruins, visiting this fascinating historical site, one of Mongolia’s most important heritage locations. Founded in the 17th century, the monastery suffered severe destruction during the communist era. Today, only the ruins remain, bearing witness to its former importance as a Buddhist center. We stroll among the remains, picturesquely situated along the banks of the Ongi River, and experience the profound silence of this historic place. This visit offers deep insight into Mongolia’s religious and cultural history.
After breakfast, we drive to Orkhon Waterfall, also known as Ulaan Tsutgalan. The waterfall is one of the most impressive natural attractions in central Mongolia. About 25 meters downstream, you can descend into the gorge, which is around 22 meters deep and surrounded by pine forests. The waterfall was formed approximately 20,000 years ago as a result of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. However, the water does not flow year-round; it usually begins after the first summer rains. We then enjoy a hike in the picturesque surroundings. The Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies in the heart of Mongolia and is considered one of the country’s most historically significant regions. It was once the center of great empires such as the Göktürks and the Mongol Empire. Visit to a nomadic family.

Today our journey first takes us to Tuvkhun Monastery, located high in the mountains north of the Orkhon Valley. This historic monastery was founded in 1653 by Zanabazar, a renowned Buddhist master who also meditated here. The temple is set in an especially picturesque location on a mountain and can be reached on foot or on horseback. From the monastery grounds, there are breathtaking views of the surrounding natural landscape. The monastery was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. We then continue to the historic city of Karakorum, once the capital of the Mongol Empire under Genghis Khan. We visit the Karakorum Museum, which presents the history and significance of the city during the Mongol Empire. Afterwards, we explore Erdene Zuu Monastery, built in 1586 and one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia. Surrounded by a wall with 108 stupas, it is an important spiritual and cultural landmark. Visit to a nomadic family Experience the daily life of a Mongolian herding family up close. During this visit, you will gain authentic insights into traditional nomadic life—from animal care to the production of dairy products. The warm hospitality, simple way of life, and deep connection to nature make this moment an unforgettable cultural experience.
In the morning, we journey to Ugii Lake, a beautiful freshwater lake in eastern Arkhangai Province, Central Mongolia. Renowned for its diverse birdlife, the lake is a peaceful natural setting ideal for swimming, relaxing by the shore, horseback riding, and hiking. Along the way, we explore the historic ruins of Khar Bukhiin Balgas, an ancient fortress offering a glimpse into Mongolia’s rich past.
Our journey continues to the remarkable Uran Togoo volcano, an extinct volcanic cone rising beautifully from the endless steppe. A gentle hike to the crater rim offers breathtaking panoramic views across northern Mongolia’s untouched landscapes. The area forms part of the Uran Togoo–Tulga Uul Nature Reserve, known for its unique volcanic formations and natural beauty. Enjoy a scenic hike in this peaceful environment and experience one of Mongolia’s lesser-known natural highlights. The region is also renowned for its exceptionally flavorful airag – fermented mare’s milk, a traditional drink deeply rooted in nomadic culture.
Early in the morning, we travel to the impressive Amarbayasgalant Monastery, one of Mongolia’s most important Buddhist centers. Built in the 18th century, it captivates visitors with its harmonious architecture, serene atmosphere, and picturesque location at the foot of Bureenkhaan Mountain. Amarbayasgalant Monastery (“Monastery of Bliss and Peace”) was constructed between 1727 and 1737 by order of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, in honor of the great Buddhist scholar Zanabazar, the first Jebtsundamba Khutuktu of Mongolia. During the visit, there is an opportunity to speak with the monks, learn more about Buddhist life in Mongolia, and gain insight into their daily practices, rituals, and philosophy. A quiet place that touches both the spirit and the heart.
To conclude our exciting and eventful journey, we enjoy our final lunch in the steppe. We hope you have had an unforgettable trip with us, experiencing the beauty and culture of Mongolia to the fullest. It has been our pleasure to accompany you on this adventure, and we wish for you to return home with many wonderful memories. After returning to Ulaanbaatar, there is time to shop for souvenirs for family and friends—from handcrafted items to traditional artifacts. For those looking for something special, a visit to one of the cashmere shops is highly recommended. Mongolia is renowned for its high-quality, finely crafted cashmere, making it a stylish and lasting gift.
After breakfast, you will be picked up by our driver and transferred to the airport. We sincerely thank you for your visit and for immersing yourself in the fascinating Mongolian culture. It has been our pleasure to share these unforgettable experiences with you. We hope to welcome you back to Mongolia soon and wish you a pleasant journey home.
