Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Душанбе, Таджикистан to Айни, Таджикистан
Day 1: Dushanbe to Alauddin Lakes via the Anzob Tunnel 10:30 AM – Departure from Dushanbe: Your private 4x4 vehicle will pick you up from the airport or your designated meeting point. We will head north into the spectacular Fann Mountains. 01:30 PM – Lunch in Sarvoda or Ayni: A stop at a traditional local chaikhona (tea house) for a hearty lunch (Tajik plov, shashlik, or laghman, with fresh flatbread and tea). 02:30 PM – Scenic Drive to Pasrud Valley: We turn off the main highway into the rugged dirt roads leading up the valley toward the vertical peaks. 04:30 PM – 05:00 PM – Arrival at Vertical Alauddin Basecamp: To answer your question: The drive from Dushanbe typically takes around 5.5 to 6 hours including a lunch stop and security checkpoints. Since you depart at 10:30 AM, you will arrive at the basecamp between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM. 05:30 PM – Guesthouse Check-in & Acclimatization: Settle into your room at the Vertical Basecamp guesthouse. Take a short, easy walk around the camp to stretch your legs and get used to the altitude (~2,600m). 07:00 PM – Dinner: A freshly prepared warm dinner at the guesthouse. Over-night in the guesthouse (shared/private rooms depending on availability). Accommodation: Vertical Alauddin Basecamp Guesthouse.
Day 2: Айни, Таджикистан to Душанбе, Таджикистан
Day 2: Exploration of Alauddin Lakes and Return to Dushanbe 08:00 AM – Breakfast: Hearty breakfast at the basecamp (porridge, eggs, bread, jam, coffee/tea). 09:00 AM – Hike to the Alauddin Lakes: A guided hike up to the main lakes. The trail is relatively short but rewarding. Within 40–50 minutes of hiking, you will reach the breathtakingly clear, turquoise lakes surrounded by towering 5,000-meter peaks (Chapdara, Zamok). 10:00 AM – 01:00 PM – Lakes Exploration & Picnic Lunch: Walk around the different lakes (such as the "Bowl" lake) and enjoy a packed picnic lunch by the shore. 01:30 PM – Descend to Basecamp: Hike back down to the Vertical Basecamp to pack bags and meet your driver. 02:30 PM – Drive back to Dushanbe: Journey back through the Pasrud Valley and the Anzob Tunnel. 07:30 PM – 08:00 PM – Arrival in Dushanbe: Drop-off at your hotel or preferred location in the city.
