Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Jarteppa, Tajikistan to Душанбе, Таджикистан
UNESCO Heritage Exploration: Guided walk through the ancient archaeological site of Sarazm (5500 years of history). Scenic 4x4 Mountain Drive: Journey through the picturesque Shing Valley, passing through local villages and high-mountain landscapes. Lake Hopping: Visiting the first six lakes of the Haft Kul (Seven Lakes) chain, observing how the water color changes from turquoise to deep blue. Alpine Hiking: A moderate hike around the 7th lake, Hazorchashma, to enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Landscape Photography: Capturing the dramatic reflections of the Fann Mountains in the crystal-clear waters of the lakes.
Day 2: Пенджикент, Таджикистан to Iskanderkul, Tajikistan
Alpine Hiking to Lake Chukurak: A relaxed 3–4 hour guided trek to one of the most beautiful emerald lakes in the Fann Mountains. Artuch Exploration: Visit to the famous Artuch Alp-Camp, the historical gateway for mountaineers. Scenic Road Expedition to Iskanderkul: A breathtaking long-distance drive through deep canyons and over mountain passes towards the heart of the Fann Mountains. High-Mountain Off-Roading: Navigating rugged terrain and high-altitude passes in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle. Village Life Observation: Passing through remote mountain settlements to see the traditional way of life. Evening Homestay Experience: A peaceful overnight stay in a local guesthouse along the road to Iskanderkul.
Day 3: Iskanderkul, Tajikistan to Jarteppa, Tajikistan
Iskanderkul Lake Discovery: Exploring the legendary "Lake of Alexander the Great," including a visit to the mystical Snake Lake. Fan Niagara Waterfall Hike: A short walk to the spectacular 38-meter waterfall where the Iskander-Darya river plunges into a deep canyon. Optional Alaudin Lakes Expedition: A flexible detour to the crystal-clear Alaudin Lakes, known for having some of the most vibrant water colors in the world (weather permitting). High-Pass Scenic Drive: A final mountain crossing in a 4x4 vehicle with panoramic views as we head back toward the valley. Farewell Tea & Local Culture: A final stop for traditional tea and a chance to reflect on the journey before heading to the border. Border Logistics Support: Full assistance with border crossing formalities and coordination of your taxi transfer to Samarkand.
