Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Karakol, Kyrgyzstan to "Karakol" Ski Base, Chelpek, Kyrgyzstan
Karakol - Karakol gorge - Alpine camp Today you start your 3-day trekking tour. After breakfast, we drive you to the gorge of Karakol, where you start your trek with the local guide. The drive to the trail head will take about 1,5 hours. We take our lunch bags and walk close to the foot of Karakol peak. It is 7 km one way. Usually it takes 3-3,5 hours and 2h back. Lunch. We spend around one hour and descend back to the alpine camp. Campfire. Overnight and dinner in yurt. Trekking: 14 km, 5-6h, +600 m Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation: Yurt
Day 2: "Karakol" Ski Base, Chelpek, Kyrgyzstan to Ala-Kul, Kyrgyzstan
Alpine camp – Ala Kol lake Early breakfast. Our camp and starting point at 2500 m. We cross the bridge and ascend to the lake Ala-Kol lake located at the altitude of 3532 m. After about 2-2.5 hours of hiking up the valley, we will stop for rest at a small hut. We will continue trekking to the lake. Lunch on the route. The distance is around 10 km but 1100 m altitude difference. Walking till the end of the lake or taking a boat or kayak to the other side of the lake (it depends on the ice melting situation). Day 3: Ala-Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan to Karakol, Kyrgyzstan
Ala Kol lake – Altyn Arashan – Karakol Today is the last day of our trek. After breakfast, we continue going up again toward the pass (3860 m), from which you can see all of the nearby peaks of the Terskey Ala-Too ringing the lake and rising up to over 5000 m above sea level. We descend the gorge to the hot springs of Altyn Arashan (2500 m). The descent takes 3-3,5 hours depending on the pace. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot springs. Transfer to Karakol by UAZ. End of the service. Trekking: 15 km, 6-7h, +350 m, -1400 m Meals included: breakfast, lunch Accommodation: not included
