3-day Suv-tour Katon-karagay & Markakol Lake

SUV-trip to the most beautiful parts of east Kazakhstan. 6 exciting locations: Katon-Karagay, The Burkhat pass, Karakoba river, Markakol lake, The Mramorny Pass, Kiin-Kerish. Duration: from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Difficulty level: easy
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Oskemen, Kazakhstan to Katon-Karagay, Kazakhstan
We meet and get acquainted with the group and the guide in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Then drive 350 km through Osinovskiy pass and the city of Altay. In the evening we stop for dinner and overnight in the village of Katon.
Day 2: Katon-Karagay, Kazakhstan to Lake Markakol, Kazakhstan
On the Burkhat pass we enjoy the panorama of the valley at the observation deck at an altitude of 2100 meters. Then we hike to the mountain lake (5 km one way). Later we drive along the Old Austrian road to Lake Markakol and guest houses.
Day 3: Lake Markakol, Kazakhstan to Oskemen, Kazakhstan
We will enjoy the panorama of the alpine Lake Markakol. Then drive through the Marble Pass to the border with China and further to the Martian landscapes of Kiin-Kerish. We will cross the Bukhtarma reservoir through the ferry crossing & return to Ust-Kamenogorsk through Kaindinskiy forest, Umysh pass and Targyn pass.
