This 3-day tour to Kel-Suu Lake and Tash-Rabat Caravanserai in Kyrgyzstan offers a unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance. On the first day, travelers will enjoy picturesque views on the road trip to Kel-Suu Lake, stopping at the otherworldly Kok-Moinok Canyon for a light hike. The second day will be spent hiking around the stunning alpine Kel-Suu Lake, surrounded by rocky cliffs and yaks. On the third day, travelers will explore the ancient Tash-Rabat Caravanserai, which served as a resting place for travelers along the Great Silk Road. The trip concludes with a scenic drive back to Bishkek.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Köl-Suu, Kyrgyzstan
Day 1: Bishkek - Kok-Moinok Canyon - Orto-Tokoy Water Reservoir - Kel-Suu Lake (480 km / 8-10 hours). At 8:00 am, we will pick you up from your hotel and begin our journey to the crystal-clear Kel-Suu Lake. The road trip will take approximately 8-10 hours, during which you will be guaranteed picturesque views. Along the way, we will stop at the picturesque Kok-Moinok Canyon for a light, yet awesome hike with otherworldly views. We will have lunch on the way. As we get closer to the Chinese border, we will pass through a control point to be registered. Finally, we will arrive at our campsite, where we will spend the night.
Day 2: Köl-Suu, Kyrgyzstan
Day 2: Kel-Suu Lake After breakfast, we will embark on a hike to the alpine Kel-Suu Lake. This stunning lake was formed after an earthquake that blocked the river, creating a pool surrounded by rocky cliffs over time. The lake is located at an altitude of 3500 m and is a great place to spot many yaks nearby. For an additional fee, you can ride a horse to explore the area further.
Day 3: Köl-Suu, Kyrgyzstan to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Day 3: Kel-Suu Lake - Tash-Rabat Caravanserai - Bishkek After breakfast, we will head to the Tash-Rabat Caravanserai, which was built in the 15th century on the site of a Nestorian temple. This ancient roadside inn served as a resting place for travelers along the Great Silk Road. We will explore this fascinating historical site and learn about its rich history. Later in the day, we will drive back to Bishkek, with an expected arrival late at night.
