3 Days Tour Iran -Ashgabat - Darvaza - Dasoguz - Khiva
About this tour
his is a short tour for those travelers who want to enter Turkmenistan from Iran and want to see the two must see destinations of the country; Ashgabat and Darvaza. For some additional cost you can also check the third destionation which is one of the UNESCO sites of Turkmenistan, Kunya-Urgench, the great capital of the vast empire of Khwarism.
You will travel by car and you will have a guide with you all the time, who will help you to enjoy your trip.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Howdan "A", Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan
You will enter Turkmenistan from Iran. Most probably the border crossing point is Bajgiran, which is not far from the holy city of Mashhad in Iran. You should enter Turkmenistan before the noon time as the border closes very early. From the border you will head to Ashgabat and have a lunch there. Check-in a hotel in Ashgabat. Start with sightseeing of the Ashgabat. This city is very different from places you have seen in Iran, or any place in the world for that matter. Ashgabat is unrealistically white and its’ architecture is indeed unusual. Many call this city very beautiful. some people don’t understand how this city is even possible. In any case Ashgabat is very very clean. Ashgabat shows its’ another beautiful side in the night. Just like Darvaza Gas crater you just have to see Ashgabat in the night. Overnight in Ashgabat in a hotel.
Day 2: Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to Door to Hell, Derweze, Turkmenistan
After the breakfast have some free time in Ashgabat. 15:00, After lunch head towards Darvaza, also called “Gates of Hell” (300km, 4 hours drive). On the way you will meet many camels and floak of goats and sheep. you will stop several times to take photos of the animals and desert villages. The main occupation of the villagers is looking after camels and sheep. 19:00, Reach the Gas Crater of Darvaza and have some inital walk around there. 20:30, Dinner with locally prepared meat or vegetable Kebabs, 22:00, Have more time around the Darvaza with many other tourists there. Take pictures and have some chat with people there. The guide will tell you the story of the place and will help you with photos. Overnight at Darvaza in traditional Turkmen Yurts.
Day 3: Door to Hell, Derweze, Turkmenistan to Shavatly, Turkmenistan
07:00, After the breakfast at Darvaza, head towards Dashoguz city, which is near the Uzbekistsan border. (300km, 6 hours drive). 13:00, Lunch in the Dashoguz city. 15:00, Head towards the Uzbekistan border. End of the Tour.
