Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Tananarive, Madagascar
Arrival in Antananarivo Airport pickup and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening before the western Madagascar adventure.
Day 2: Tananarive, Madagascar to Morondava, Madagascar
Take a domestic flight to Morondava, subject to flight availability. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and discover the coastal town. In the late afternoon, visit the Avenue of the Baobabs and admire the towering trees in the changing light of sunset. If time allows, stop at the famous Baobab Amoureux.
Day 3: Morondava, Madagascar to Kirindy Forest, Kirindy Village, Madagascar
After breakfast, drive from Morondava to Kirindy Forest, passing through the distinctive landscapes of western Madagascar. Upon arrival, check in at your forest lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, join a guided walk through the dry deciduous forest in search of endemic wildlife, including lemurs, chameleons, and birds. After dinner, head out for a night walk with a local guide to look for nocturnal species, such as mouse lemurs, sportive lemurs, and, if lucky, the elusive fossa.
Day 4: Kirindy, Madagascar
Wake up early for a guided morning walk in Kirindy Forest, when wildlife is often active. Look for endemic lemurs, including Verreaux’s sifakas and red-fronted brown lemurs, as well as birds, reptiles, and other fascinating species. After the visit, return to the lodge for breakfast before driving back to Morondava. Upon arrival, enjoy some free time to relax at your hotel or explore the coastal town.
Day 5
Today is the last day in the western part of Madagascar. Depart from the Morondava airport for your domestic flight to Antananarivo.
