Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe, Uganda to Kibale National Park, Uganda

After breakfast at the lodge, the guide will brief you fully about the safari and after you will start your drive to Kibale National park and have numerous stop overs for some photos and experiments. You will have lunch en-route and then proceed to the park where you will have an overnight and dinner.

Day 2: Kibale National Park, Uganda to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda

Have breakfast and head for briefing about the chimp tracking activity. Chimpanzees are man’s closest cousins though they are one of the most threatened primate species. More primates like Black and white Colobus monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, Grey cheeked Mangabey, Red tailed monkeys, bush babies, pottos and many bird species like the yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, Little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle, black bee eater and mammals like Elephants can be seen in this walk. After, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and relax on arrival.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda

Have a game drive in the northern part of the park on the Kasenyi Track in search of lions, elephants, solitary buffaloes. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action owing to the vast population of Uganda Kobs. We have an excellent chance to view just about every animal here at very close range. Return to the lodge for your breakfast, before heading out for a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel. This gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray at a mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda

Today we start journey to the home of the gentle giants of Bwindi. This fulfilling journey takes us through the Kigezi highlands with great scenery of terraced hills. Lunch will be along the way or at the lodge depending on time of arrival. Your lodge in or adjust to the impenetrable forest will offer you great resting as you prepare for the next day’s trek.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda

Have an early morning breakfast, and after proceed to the park headquarters to have a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Bwindi. The rangers will then accompany you to the thick rainforest to start your search for the gentle giants. Trekkers are always advised to carry their rain coats and boots because the weather there is always unpredictable. There are also some potters who always help with the carrying of the luggage on behalf of the visitors but at a small extra cost. It’s always not easy to predict how long gorilla tracking will take and this also depends on the location of some families since some of them are far from the park headquarters. However, it always takes 2 to 7 hours to come into contact with them and the rangers will always be there to guide you. Trackers are also advisable to be physically fit before going for tracking. After your trek, go back at the lodge and have a late lunch(or opt for parked lunch).

Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda

We will drive from Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park. There is a scheduled stopover at Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara for lunch. After lunch at Igongo, proceed to Lake Mburo National Park for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo to spot various wildlife species, including zebras, topis, giraffes, and Impala, Uganda kobs, and many more!
