Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Day 1: Arrival in Tashkent – City sightseeing Arrival at Tashkent International Airport. Meet your driver and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival time, begin a sightseeing tour of the capital of Uzbekistan. Possible highlights include: Khast Imam Complex – the spiritual center of the city where the famous ancient Quran of Caliph Usmon is preserved. Chorsu Bazaar – one of the oldest and most colorful markets in Central Asia. Amir Timur Square – the central square dedicated to the great conqueror. Independence Square – the main national square of Uzbekistan. Overnight in hotel in Tashkent.
Day 2: Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Bukhara, Uzbekistan
Day 2: Tashkent – Bukhara Breakfast at the hotel. Morning transfer to the railway station and departure to Bukhara by train. Arrival in Bukhara and transfer to the hotel. After lunch, begin exploration of the historic center of Bukhara, one of the most important cities along the Silk Road. Main sights include: Lyabi-Hauz Ensemble – a beautiful historic square with a pond surrounded by madrasas. Poi-Kalyan Complex – including the famous Kalyan Minaret, once called the “Tower of Death”. Ark of Bukhara – the ancient royal fortress of the Bukharan emirs. Overnight in hotel in Bukhara.
Day 3: Bukhara, Uzbekistan to Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Day 3: Bukhara – Samarkand Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the railway station and travel to Samarkand by train (or by private car depending on availability). Arrival and hotel check-in. In the afternoon begin sightseeing in the legendary city of Samarkand, one of the most important centers of the Silk Road. Highlights include: Registan Square – the iconic heart of Samarkand surrounded by three magnificent madrasas. Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum – the final resting place of Amir Timur (Tamerlane). Bibi-Khanym Mosque – one of the largest mosques of the medieval Islamic world. Overnight in hotel in Samarkand.
Day 4: Samarkand, Uzbekistan to Panjakent, Tajikistan
Day 4: Samarkand – Panjakent Breakfast at the hotel. Morning transfer to the Uzbekistan–Tajikistan border (approx. 1 hour). After border crossing, meet your Tajik driver and continue to Panjakent, one of the oldest cities in Tajikistan. Sightseeing in Panjakent including: Ancient Panjakent – ruins of a 5th–8th century Sogdian city. Sarazm – a UNESCO World Heritage prehistoric settlement dating back over 5,000 years. Panjakent local bazaar. Overnight in hotel in Panjakent.
Day 5: Panjakent, Tajikistan to Seven Lakes, Tajikistan
Day 5: Panjakent – Seven Lakes After breakfast, drive into the beautiful Fann Mountains toward the famous Seven Lakes (Haft Kul). The lakes lie in a narrow mountain valley, each with a different color and altitude. Visit and explore the first five lakes, stopping for short walks, photography, and enjoying the mountain landscapes. Lunch picnic or local meal during the excursion. Overnight in a guesthouse.
Day 6: Seven Lakes, Tajikistan to Shurcha, Tajikistan
Day 6: Seven Lakes – Fann Mountains – Ruknobod village After breakfast, continue exploring the last two lakes (6th and 7th) located higher in the valley. These lakes are the most remote and scenic, surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks. Enjoy short walks and free time to appreciate the natural beauty. Later drive through the mountains toward Ruknobod village. Arrival and accommodation in a traditional homestay, where you can experience local lifestyle. Dinner and overnight in Ruknobod.
Day 7: Shurcha, Tajikistan to Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Day 7: Ruknobod – Dushanbe Breakfast at the homestay. Drive to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan (approx. 3-4 hours through mountain scenery). Arrival in Dushanbe and hotel check-in. Afternoon city tour including: Rudaki Park – the central park of the capital. National Museum of Tajikistan – showcasing the country’s history and culture. Mehrgon Bazaar – a colorful modern market with local products. Overnight in hotel in Dushanbe.
Day 8: Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Day 8: Dushanbe – Departure Breakfast at the hotel. Optional short excursion before departure. Transfer to Dushanbe International Airport according to your flight schedule. End of the tour.
