Take a city tour of Dushanbe to discover the city. The name Dushanbe translates as "Monday," which comes from the fact that Dushanbe grew up on the site of a village that was originally a popular Monday market. You will visit the main attractions of the city and its environs: the National Museum, the Monument to Ismail Somoni, the Gissar Fortress, one of the most valuable historical places in Tajikistan (located 15 km west of Dushanbe), and many others.
After breakfast, you will visit one of the biggest National flags in the world which is 165 meters tall, Central Museum, Rudaki Park, the Monument to Ismail Somoni, and the Gurminj Museum of Traditional Musical Instruments. After lunch, you will drive to the Hissar district to see the Hissar Fortress (18th c) which is located 30 km west of Dushanbe. Beside the fortress, there are two Madrasahs (18th and 19th cc) and one mausoleum of the 16th century. Return back to Dushanbe, and visit Asian Bazar (Market) to buy some fresh products.
