I invite you for a walk through the Valley of Castles to feel the magnificent atmosphere of the Charyn Canyon. The Valley of Castles is called the younger brother of the famous Grand Canyon.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Almaty to Charyn canyon

In the morning we leave the city towards the Charyn canyon. The length of the route is 200 km, 3-3.5 hours one way. On the way we will pass one of the beautiful Kokpek passes. After arriving at the canyon, we will have an easy walk through the gorge to the Charyn River. Let's rest, let's eat. Then we will climb back to the top, to the panorama, in order to look at the canyon from above. This all takes one day.
