Alauddin: The Sky In The Lakes

Day 1: Dushanbe, Tajikistan to Alauddin Lake 1, Айнӣ, Tajikistan

We pick up from the hotel in Dushanbe and drive to Ayni in a comfortable minivan. Then we transfer to jeeps and travel along winding mountain passes, enjoying breathtaking views of valleys, rocky peaks, and picturesque mountain villages. The hiking trail leads to the Alauddin Lakes — about a 1-hour walk along a scenic path. We explore the main turquoise lake and two smaller lakes, each with its unique water color reflecting the sky and mountain peaks. We stroll along the shore, take stunning photos, and fully immerse in the harmony of the mountain landscape. After the walk, we return by jeeps to Ayni and then by minivan to Dushanbe. Along the way, we share legends of the lakes, introduce the local life of Ayni and nearby villages, showcase the region’s rare flora and fauna, and explain why the Fann Mountains are considered the heart of Tajikistan’s tourism.
