π Departure from Almaty
Early in the morning, we depart from the city in off-road vehicles, heading towards Altyn-Emel National Park, crossing steppes and mountain passes. Then we head to the village of Basshi, located within Altyn-Emel National Park. We have lunch at a guesthouse before setting off to the 700-year-old Willow Tree. Here, we can collect fresh water, wash up, and take a short break before continuing on the bumpy road towards the Katutau and Aktau mountains. In the Katutau Mountains, we will take breathtaking photos and admire the stunning volcanic landscapes. In the Aktau Mountains, we will hike up a chalk mountain and enjoy a birdβs-eye view of the valley. After an active day of exploring, we will return to the guesthouse in the village of Basshi and enjoy a delicious dinner.
On the second day, we wake up early and head to the Singing Dune. We hike to the top, walk along the ridge, and try to hear the sand βsingβ in the wind. From the summit, we can capture stunning photos with the Ili River as a backdrop. Next, we head to the Oshaktas Stele, a site where ancient tribes once performed sacrificial rituals. After exploring this historic place, we return to the guesthouse for lunch. Following lunch, we leave for the city of Almaty.
