Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Karakol, Kyrgyzstan
Karakol is one of the most attractive cities in Kyrgyzstan. It has a fascinating history of the fundation and represents the unity of nations and ethnies living in peace and freedom. After a short stop in Bishkek, we take direction of the Issyk-Kul region. On the way lunch stop at Balykchy or Cholpon Ata cities. Issyk-Kul lake the second largest salty altitude lake in the world, going around it by crossing village after village you'll be convinced that it's huge and beautiful, pearl like kyrgyz people call. Once we're in Karakol we end the day by visiting the museum of Prejyvalsky. We try national cuisine; diner at the restaurant. total drive; 6,7 hours night in a Guest House or hotel
Day 2: Karakol, Kyrgyzstan to Jeti Oguz, Kyrgyzstan
Today's goal is to reach to Jeti-Oguz valley , but we take our time to see more in the Karakol city. Visit of Dungan mosque and church is planned. Arriving at the entrance of Jeti-Oguz valley we make a stop to take a photo of one of the famous places that are on postcards. We go up the river following this path which conducts us into a green valley Kok-Jaiyk where a warm welcome is given to us in a yurt camp. Depending on time we could go to see a waterfall not far from here if not we plan for tomorrow morning... Total drive 2 h Night in a yurt camp .
Day 3: Jeti-Ögüz resort, Jeti Oguz, Kyrgyzstan to Barskoon valley. Gagarin monument, Kyrgyzstan
We have to leave this peaceful place for Barskoon valley which is known for its exceptional beauty. Arrived at Gagarin's area , with a little climbing up these hills we'll reach to a quite tall waterfall. Picnic will complete this perfect relaxation in nature. Today's beauties don't end with this place , in the afternoon visit of Skazka canyons is planned , Skazka or Fairytale canyon is known for the colors that make incredibly beautiful the little hills around. Warm light of sunset will emphasize it. After a such adventure we must go to Bokonbaevo village (40 h of driving) to find accommodation. Total drive- 4,5h ; walking 1h , elev.gain+300m -300m Overnight in a Guest House.
Day 4: Barskoon valley. Gagarin monument, Kyrgyzstan to Bokonbayevo, Kyrgyzstan
Bokonbaevo is a perfect place for travellers, it's close to best spots on the south shore. Ak- Say canyons is the next destination. It’s a proof of nature’s creativity, we'll go through the tunnel of its fabulous walls to reach out to the wild beach of the lake. With a little climbing a panoramic view is offered on the pointed top of the hills. A magnificent view on the lake too. Next place to go is Kok bulak where we'll discover eagle hunting. A legendary eagle hunter Aitoo will share with us this fascinating passion of ancestors. Our discovering of his life will last more thanks for the overnight in his home. Day 5: Bokonbayevo, Kyrgyzstan to Manas International Airport, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
We must have traveled around the lake if we arrive in Balyktchy city on the way to Bishkek. A last interesting historical visit is planned to achieve this staying, the visit of the Burana tower XII century . After a lunch on the way direction the Manas International Airport. Driving: 5,6 h Flying home
