The Annapurna region is the second most popular region after the Everest region. It encompasses many short and long-duration treks with the Annapurna Base Camp trek as the most popular trek in the Annapurna region. This package is a 16 days long package in which the trekking days count to 11 days and the 5 days amount to the duration of trek preparation and transportation to the start point of the trek. The pathways are through and along rivers, across the forest of bamboo, rhododendron, and other trees, rocky terrain with views of peaks like Annapurna I (8,091m), Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna Fang, Mt. Arrival day in Kathmandu (1300 m/4,264 ft) We welcome you to Nepal. Our representative and probably your guide for the Annapurna Base Camp will be there to pick you up at the airport. The guide will take you to the hotel and help with the check-in procedures. You can ask the representative any questions regarding the trip. If necessary, we will collect the needed documents for the trip such as issuing the permits. Kathmandu city tour & trek preparation Today is the preparation day for the trek that begins tomorrow. After breakfast, we will have a briefing, if essential. Then enjoy a tour in Kathmandu. You will visit 3 of the 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley. The best choices will be Pashupatinath Temple: a temple complex, Stupa: the, Bouddhanath Stupa: one of the largest stupas in Kathmandu, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square: one of the royal courtyard in Kathmandu valley. If you also want to visit the Durbar Squares, then it is possible. Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara Valley (822 m/2,697 ft) The third day is a drive to Pokhara City. The trek to the Annapurna region starts from Pokhara. It is a 7-hour drive by tourist bus. After reaching Pokhara, your guide will take you to the hotel for the night's stay. Pokhara is a popular tourist destination and also the tourist capital of Nepal. It is much cleaner than Kathmandu and a very beautiful city. After you have rested in the hotel, you can go for a walk in the streets of Pokhara and also enjoy a stroll near Phewa Lake. • Included: Breakfast, Transportation to Pokhara by tourist bus, & hotel accommodation • Overnight at 3 star hotel in Pokhara
Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577m/5,173 ft) The travel starts right after breakfast. You will drive to Nayapul which will take about 2 hours by a private car and then embark on the trekking journey. Our destination for today is Tikhedhunga. We will pass through rivers, suspension bridges, and sub-tropical forests. Trek to Ghorepani (2,850m/9,350ft) On this day, we will ascend to Ghorepani. The name Ghorepani comes from "Ghoda: Horde and Pani: Water" suggesting that the traders that used to travel in the past preferred this place as a campsite and have their horses rest there. Now it is a popular spot for the Annapurna region trekkers as this village is near Poon Hill, another popular short trek destination in the Annapurna area. Small shops are selling local crafts and products. The altitude is more than 1000 meters higher than our stop the other day, so the weather will be a bit cold. Poon Hill (3210m/10525ft) hike and trek to Tadapani (2,710m/8,891ft) Today is very special as we will climb up to Poon Hill, the short trek destination in the Annapurna region. The route has a beautiful rhododendron forest. Poonhill is a beautiful viewpoint in the Annapurna area with a view of many peaks like Dolpo, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna including Mt. Machhapuchhre, and Manaslu. The sunrise and panoramic view from Poonhill add another highlight for this day. After enjoying the beautiful Mountain View, we will get back to Ghorepani for breakfast and trek to Tadapani on the beautiful forest trail. Trek to Chhomrong (2,210m/7,249 ft) Today we will descend to Kimrong Khola. It is a small mountain river flowing through the forest of rhododendron. Our destination for today is Chhomrong. We will stop at the villages of Gurjung for lunch. Chhomrong is located in the lap of the Annapurna range. It is the biggest Gurung settlement area in the Annapurna region. The view of mountains like Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli along with beautiful terraced land and settlements can be seen from Chhomrong. Trek to Dovan (2,600m/8,528 ft) After our breakfast, we will walk through the trail of Chhomrong Khola reaching Sinuwa Hill. We will then stride towards Upper Modi Khola Valley and have lunch. Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC- 3,700m/12,139ft) Today, we will head to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. The narrow path of Modi Khola valley will bring us near the Machhapuchhre Base camp which is Annapurna sanctuary as it is surrounded by mountains. The climb to Machhapuchhre is not permitted, so we cannot move further but resting near the Machhapuchhre is our goal for today. During the travel, we will have lunch at Deurali and stride for 2 hours more, finally reaching Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Machhapuchhre base camp has a view of peaks like Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli, and Gangapurna. Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (Annapurna Sanctuary) (ABC- 4130m/13550ft) We will continue to ascend after breakfast. We will reach our goal for this 16-day trip to Annapurna Base Camp. The trail is easier and deep into Annapurna Sanctuary. The area is windy and snowy at the same time so dress appropriately. The views of the Himalayas are remarkable from the Annapurna Base Camp. This will the shortest distance to travel for today. So you will have more time in Annapurna Base Camp and enjoy the great scenery of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and other peaks around you. • Included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, & teahouse accommodation • Overnight at the local Teahouse in Annapurna Base Camp • Distance: approx. 2.9km trek • Duration: 2 hrs of trekking
Trek (ABC) to Bamboo (2,300m/7,544 ft) Today, we will take a glimpse of sunrise from Annapurna Base Camp and move down to Bamboo for the night. The path is similar to what we have traversed but the viewpoint as we climb down the elevation is different and refreshing. The trail of beautiful rhododendron and bamboo forests is stunning. There are few teahouses in Bamboo for tourism services. Trek to Jhinu Danda (Natural hot spring) (1,780m/5,859 ft) Today, we will visit a place with a natural hot spring: Jhinu Danda. It is a detour to the usual path that we climbed, but it will be a much-needed experience for our tired bodies. The path leads to Khuldi Ghar, Sinuwa Hill, and Chhomrong village where we will stop for a meal. Then it is 2 hours of descent to Jhinu for the night. Trek to Tolkha/Pothana (1,730 m/5709ft) Today we will trek to Tolkha crossing the Chhomrong River and Modi River. The lunch will be at Landruk, then we will follow down the path and reach Tolkha for the night. Trek to Phedi via Dhampus (1,640 m) & drive to Pokhara Our journey will take us to Pokhara today. But we must trek to Phedi before riding a private car to Pokhara. The view of the Annapurna range through Pothana and Dhampus is very eye-catching. We can see many small settlements in the forest with stunning views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu On this day, you can enjoy your morning by taking a leisurely walk in the lakesides of Pokhara. We will depart in the afternoon via a flight to Kathmandu. In the evening, we will pick you up for a farewell dinner with traditional performances.
