About this tour

Atmospheric hike to the only glaciological center in central Asia at an altitude of 3400 meters in the Ile-Alatau mountains. The hike starts from the ski complex Shymbulak. Length 8-9 hours. All day. Route for trained tourists. See you on the trail.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Almaty, Kazakhstan to Mynzhylky dam, Almaty, Kazakhstan

The hike starts from the ski complex Shymbulak. From Medeu we take an eco-taxi to Shymbulak and from there we go hiking. On the way there will be a stop at the memorial to the fallen climbers. Plateau Mynzhylki 3100 meters. There will be an opportunity to get acquainted with the peaks of Ile-Alatau. The hike starts early in the morning.
