Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Almaty to Almaty Oblysy
Day 1. Altyn Emel National Park, pictures are attached. Visiting Aktau and Katytau mountains Overnight in the guesthouse with local family.
Day 2: Almaty Oblysy
Day 2. Visiting Singing dune Departure to Saty village Overnight in guesthouse with local family.
Day 3: Almaty Oblysy
Day 3. Visiting Kolsai Lake-1 Trekking to Kolsai lake-2 (higher one). Overnight in guesthouse. We stay in the same house and village. Optionally horses can be hired asit is quite steeep sometimes.
Day 4: Almaty Oblysy
Day 4. Visiting Kaindy lake. This lake appeared occasionally after massive landslide in Y'1908, when slid land made a natural damb across the river. Of course, water finds its way and within the past century its depths already decreased by 40 meters, including 6 meters within last 30 years. In few decades this lake may disappear completely. Because of low temperature (underwater it is only slightly above ) the trees beneath the water are a kind of conservated by temperature, their branches are visible very well, ther rest in the air already decomposed. Departure to Charyn Canyons. The Canyon is quite long, more than 72 kilometers. After having a walk in it we will still drive about an hour along it. Overnight in bungalow at Canyons in summers Overnight in hotel with hot mineral waters in winters
Day 5: Almaty Oblysy to Almaty
Day 5. Walking through the Canyons Departure to Almaty The Canyone is long, more than 72 km. We will stop in two places along it, both are picturesque.
