Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Cholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan
Transfer to Burana Tower from 9th of century which is a large minaret in the Chuy Valley in northern Kyrgyzstan. All that remains of the ancient city of Balasagun, which was established by the Karakhanids at the end of the 9th century.
Day 2: Cholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan to Jeti Oguz, Kyrgyzstan
Drive to Jeti Oguz is a sandstone formation about 25 km (15 miles) southwest of Karakol. The name means “seven bulls”, which comes from the fact that the rocks look like seven bulls. Jeti-Oguz Rocks are a protected Nature Monument.
Day 3: Jeti Oguz, Kyrgyzstan to Kochkor, Kyrgyzstan
Drive to Kochkor. Kochkor is located in Naryn Province, on the road to Lake Son-Kul and Torugart Pass. Kochkor used to be a stop for merchants going to and from Kashgar, on the other side of Torugart Pass in China. Today, Kochkor (or Kochkorka) has become a stop for tourists as they head deeper into the Tian Shan.
Day 4: Kochkor, Kyrgyzstan to Chychkan, Kyrgyzstan
Chychkan Gorge is a long and picturesque gorge in the northern part of the Jalal-Abad region, through which the Bishkek-Osh road passes. Perhaps everyone who traveled from Bishkek to Osh by car remembered this remarkable place well. A wooded gorge, the slopes of which are covered with Tien Shan spruce, flowers and thickets of mountain berries leave few indifferent. Chychkan in translation from Kyrgyz means "mouse."
Day 5: Chychkan, Kyrgyzstan to Arslanbob, Kyrgyzstan
The vast tracts of woodland, filled with nut and fruit trees, in the Arslanbob River valley are the largest of their kind in the world, covering over 600,000 hectares. Up to 1,500 tons of walnuts are harvested every year in the Arslanbob Valley, plus 5,000 tons of apples, pistachios, and cherry plums. In order to protect these generous gifts of nature, the Arslanbob area is now a forest zone protected by the state. Recent deforestation (despite the fact that the forests are protected by law) has been very controversial.
Day 6: Arslanbob, Kyrgyzstan to Osh, Kyrgyzstan
The date of the origin of the Uzgen city is attributed to the 1-2 centuries BC. He served as one of the trade points of the Great Silk Road, which connected Europe and Kashgar in China. Most interesting sight of Uzgen is the architectural complex, built in the early 12th century. Visiting the historical places Asaf ibn Burhia, Babur’s house on the top of Sulayman mountain, mosque Rabat Abdulahan from 16th of century.
Day 7: Osh, Kyrgyzstan to Tulpar kul, Sary Mogul, Kyrgyzstan
In the morning drive to Tulparkul lake and you will cross two passes Taldyk (the highest pass in Kyrgysztan and Chyirchyk passes which is surrounded with shepherd’s yurts.) In Tulparkul lake there are some small lakes. From that place you can see Lenin peak 7134m high which covered with snow. Sleep in a Yurt camp in a Tulpar kul.
Day 8: Tulpar kul, Sary Mogul, Kyrgyzstan to Murghab, Tajikistan
After breakfast you will drive to border to Tadjikistan and crossing border You will drive to Murgab. On the way you can see the Karakul lake which is the biggest lake in Tajikistan and you will stop at Akbaital pass which is the highest pass in Tajikistan 4655m above the sea level. Night in a Hotel
Day 9: Murghab, Tajikistan
In the morning driver will drive you to Pshart valley for drop off and you can hike 6-7hours to Madian.Around 6 or 7 pm he will come to pick up from Madian and drive to Murgab. Night in a Pamir hotel in Murgab.
Day 10: Murghab, Tajikistan to Langar, Tajikistan
On the way to Bulunkul you will cross Khargush pass 4283m high above the sea level. You can stop in some beautiful places to enjoy the scenery and stop at the lakes of Bulunkul and Yashilkul. Night in a homestay in Langar.
Day 11: Langar, Tajikistan to Khorog, Tajikistan
In the morning drive from Langar to Ishkashim. On the way you can visit Yamchun fotress, Bibi Fatima hot spring, and solo calendar in Yamg village and so on. Stoping in historical place like also Kakh-Khaha fotress included and drive to Garm Chashma hot spring based at 2325 meters and known since Silk road Merchants. The starting point of wakhan and area becoming wider and you will see the different people which are Pamiri who speak different than Farsi. Stay in Khorog
Day 12: Khorog, Tajikistan to Rŭshan, Tajikistan
After Braekfast drive to Jizew(beginning of Bartang valley)via Rushan . in Jizew you have possibility to walk and see small village and lake Stop in Jizew to sleep Guest house.
Day 13: Rŭshan, Tajikistan to Kalaikhum, Tajikistan
Drive to Kalaikumb along the river Panj and via Shurobat pass. Over side of river you can see many different villages in Afghanistan side. The scenery is very different and every 20 km the view is changing. Stay in a hotel in Kalaikumb or in home stay.
Day 14: Kalaikhum, Tajikistan to Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Drive from KalaiKhumb to Dushanbe where you can see Khulbuk Caravan saray . This place was very popular between the Merchants during the old time. Caravan saray is located on the road of old silk road and people used to stop and had a rest. Night in Dushanbe
Day 15: Dushanbe, Tajikistan to Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Drive from Dushanbe to Samarkand, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, conveniently located in the flowering valley of the Zeravshan River. It is one of the three largest and most populated cities of Uzbekistan. For centuries, Samarkand was a key point of the Great Silk Road and served as a crossroads of cultures of East and West.
Day 16: Samarkand, Uzbekistan to Bukhara, Uzbekistan
Bukhara is not only a city, but also a museum under the blue sky. Bukhara sightseeing will give you a great chance to be closer to the events of past that happened here. Walking down the narrow streets of the city, staying for rest in the parks of green and looking at the historical monuments of different epochs will remain in your memory to warm you and make you smile
Day 17: Bukhara, Uzbekistan to Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Transfer to Tashkent by high-speed train "Afrosiyob". Tashkent is the most important city of Uzbekistan, because this city is the capital, the administrative center of the Republic and very unique place where ancient East and modernity are the best neighbors. Tashkent is prosperous metropolis, which population (more than 3 million people) growing with every day. This city has changed the most around all of the other cities of Uzbekistan because of its special status of capital.
