2 Day Trip To The Disaster Site Of Ussr Space Programm
About this tour
Visit with me the spot of the Soyuz-11 spaceship landing where a technical disaster in the Soviet area caused the death of a spaceship crew. We will visit the site and the monument for the crew.
On the way back we will visit ancient petroglyph sites and old mines as well as a Ghost town, and an abandoned quarry and prison in Karazhal.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Zhezqazghan, Kazakhstan to Karazhal, Kazakhstan
Drive to Shalqyma site, where technical accident happened to the crew of Soyuz-11 space ship. Due to leaking air three cosmonauts died suffocating. To commemorize them, a monument was build it their honour.
Day 2: Karazhal, Kazakhstan to Zhezqazghan, Kazakhstan
On the way back to Zhezkazgan we will visit petroglyphs and ancient mine, abandoned ghost town, quarry and prison in Karazhal. All meals will be served outdoors.
