About this tour
On this trip you’ll enjoy the landscape of Mount Khogno Khaan Nature Reserve, and the sand dunes nearby called “Elsen tasarkhai”, learn about Buddhism and the history of Mongolia, and one of the most popular tourist attraction Great White lake, Khorgo volcano. Furthermore you’ll enjoy walking around the Ugii lake which is famous for fishing. You’ll be able to experience typical nomadic family lifestyle and do horse riding.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Elsen Tasarkhai (Sand Dune Mini Gobi), Mongolia
We'll to drive to Mount Khugnu Khan Nature Reserve in the afternoon. On reaching the mountain after a couple of hours you will arrive at a nomadic family ger in front of this beautifully forested rocky mountain. The mountain is home to hundreds of birds, deer, and gazelle. You'll be able to go hiking around the area or to the small sand dunes nearby called " Elsen tasarkhai". Spend the night in a ger.
Day 2: Elsen Tasarkhai (Sand Dune Mini Gobi), Mongolia to Erdene Zuu Monastery, Kharkhorin, Mongolia
We'll drive to Kharkhorin, an ancient capital of Mongolia. The Erdenezuu Monastery was the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Its construction began in 1586, but the monastery was not totally finished till 300 years later. The building of the monastery was done with stones from the ancient capital Kharkhorin only. Around 60 temples used to be inside its walls, but the Stalinist purges destroyed many, and only 18 of them remained untouched. Nowadays, the monastery is reopened for Buddhist monks and also for visitors
Day 3: Erdene Zuu Monastery, Kharkhorin, Mongolia to Tsenkher Hot Spring Resort, Altan-Ovoo, Mongolia
We’ll drive to Tsenkher hot spring. You’ll be able relax taking natural hot bath in the hot spring water. Stay at ger camp at Tsenkher hot spring.
Day 4: Tsenkher Hot Spring Resort, Altan-Ovoo, Mongolia to Khorgo Trekhiin Tsagaan Nuur, Mongolia
Drive to Great White Lake and Khorgo Volcano. Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National park was established to protect the spectacular mountain scenery and endangered species of fauna and flora. The area has extinct volcanoes, many beautiful lakes, a great number of animals and birds, and is definitely one of the best natural tourist attractions. Khorgo is a unique natural complex (2240 m), National Park surrounded by the Khangai Mountains, which is 3000 meters above the sea level. In the craters some of them are very tiny crystal- clears lakes. The Khorgo crater, situated at an altitude of 2.210 meters with a diameter of 20 meters and depth of 70 to 80 meters, is the most stunning.
Day 5: Khorgo Trekhiin Tsagaan Nuur, Mongolia
We'll go hiking from the lake Great White to the Khorgo volcano. You'll be able to go down and climb up the Khorgo craters, also it's great to go around the volcano.
Day 6: Khorgo Trekhiin Tsagaan Nuur, Mongolia to Ugii Lake, Mongolia
We’ll drive to the Lake Ugii where you can enjoy some hiking. On the way, we’ll take a break at an interesting huge rock called “Taikhar” in the steppe.
Day 7: Ugii Lake, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
We will drive to Ulaanbaatar.
