Chilum Joshi Festival - Kalasha Valleys - 8 Day Tour
About this tour
Chilum Joshi is a festival celebrated by Kalasha People in Kalash, Chitrak KPK -Pakistan which is also known as the Spring Festival of Kalash. In which girls and boys dance on Traditional Drum Beats wearing traditional outfits. It held in three valleys of Kalash i.e Bumborat, Rumboor, and Birir.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Islamabad, Pakistan to Chitrāl, Pakistan
Pickup from given avenue in Islamabad Departure from Islamabad Airport to Chitral Flight will be of 1 hour 10 mins Our guide will pick you up from Chitral Airport or either he will be with you from Islamabad. Explore the city of Chitral rest of the day
Day 2: Chitrāl, Pakistan to Kalash Valley, Chitrāl, Pakistan
After breakfast at Hotel, will move towards Kalash Valleys (Rumbur) Visit Ayun and capture the beautiful views of Ayun and Other Valleys in the way. Lunch at Kalash Home Guest House After Lunch set out to meet locals, visit their homes and meet our Kalasha Friend there.
Day 3: Bamboret, Pakistan to Rumbur, Chitrāl, Pakistan
VISIT BEFORE FESTIVALS STARTS After breakfast at guest house will move towards Bomborate Village to explore and visit Homes of Kalashas in Bomborate Village Kalasha Museum build by a Spanish Graveyard of Kalashas which have a unique and deep historical background Lunch at Bomborate and move to Birir (If have time) Overnight stay at Rumbur
Day 4: Rumbur, Chitrāl, Pakistan
Day 01 of CHILUM JOSHI FESTIVAL (IT WILL HELD FOR 3 DAYS ) There will be local and our company guides with you until the end of the festival.
Day 5: Rumbur, Chitrāl, Pakistan
Day 02 of CHILUM JOSHI FESTIVAL There will be local and our company guides with you until the end of the festival.
Day 6: Rumbur, Chitrāl, Pakistan
Day 03 of CHILUM JOSHI FESTIVAL There will be local and our company guides with you until the end of the festival.
Day 7: Kalash Valley, Chitrāl, Pakistan to Chitrāl, Pakistan
After ending the festival you have options either you want to have rest at the guest house or wander around the villages in Kalasha with our guides. In the evening you will drive back to Chitral to catch the flight back the next day
Day 8: Chitrāl, Pakistan to Islamabad, Pakistan
Fly back to Islamabad from Chitral Airport Islamabad City Tour and Farewell Dinner at Monal with us.

What to know
This tour can be customized. Please get in touch with me. Pickup can be done from Islamabad Airport and drop you back at the Airport, there will be a few changes made to the same itinerary given. Those coming from China (Overlanding to Pakistan) will be picked up from Sost-Hunza Valley and drive through Ghizer-Shandur Plains to Kalash Valley for the Festival. Those coming to Lahore by flight/ Overlanding from India will be picked up from Lahore Airport / PTDC Liberty Market-Lahore and drive through the motorway to swat t Chitral and then to Kalash for the festival.
