Cosmic Station And Big Almaty Peak
About this tour
We will hike to the Big Almaty Lake without belongings, where we will take a car to reach the Cosmic station (3300 m) - the stuff will be transported by the car. Here we will spend the night in a warm mountain hut so that the next day we can climb one of the nearby peaks (Big Almaty Peak or Tourist Peak). The trip can be extended for 1 more day (climbing another peak) or 2 more days (going down along the neighbouring Prokhodnoye valley).
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Almaty, Kazakhstan to Big Almaty Peak, Kazakhstan
On this day we will walk to the Big Almaty Lake along a beautiful gorge, admire the views of the lake, and then go up by car to the Cosmic station. Here we will prepare dinner and spend the night in a warm mountain hut. If you're lucky, we'll go on an excursion to the station, where the flow of cosmic particles is being studied.
Day 2: Big Almaty Peak, Kazakhstan to Almaty, Kazakhstan
On this day we will climb the Big Almaty Peak (3691 m), which offers views of the city and the entire valley. After descending from the mountain, we will have lunch and go to the city by car.
