Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Dagoguz to Darvaza

This adventure is a great way to experience the best of Turkmenistan. Starting from Dashoguz, you’ll еxplore Kunya-Urgench: ancient Khorezm's greatest historical monuments, minarets, and mausoleums. Тravel deep into the Karakum Desert to witness the glowing Darvaza Gas Crater. Enjoy dinner cooked over fire and spend the night in a traditional yurt under the stars.

Day 2: Darvaza to Ashgabat

Breakfast at the Gas crater on the open air. Driving to Ashgabat. Arriving in Ashgabat – the capital of Turkmenistan (~4.0 hours). After lunch at the local hotel, embark on a half day exploration of Ashgabat, the capital city of Turkmenistan, which has borne this name since 1881. According to Turkmen folklore, the name of the city is linked with the meaning “a city of love”, reflecting a sentiment deeply ingrained in the hearts of its citizens. Present – day Ashgabat is characterized by its unique blend of traditional national architecture and modern urban achievements.

Day 3: Ashgabat to Mary

Exursion to the old city of Merv, often referred to as the “pearl of the east”. Explore historical sites such as the Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum, Gyaur Kala, Erk Kala, Big Gyz Kala, Small Gyz Kala, and Ibn Zeid Mausoleum.
