Damavand Ski Touring
About this tour
Mount Damavand is the highest ski resort in Iran for ski mountaineering, ski touring, wild ski expedition and snowboard. Damavand receives heavy snowfalls in winter because of its vicinity to the Caspian Sea. The south route is not technical and is an ideal route for ski and snowboard. Skiing on other sides is more difficult. Depending to the weather the amount of snowfall is different each year, the ski season may starts from mid November and last until mid May. South side of mount Damavand is not so steep. Also there is no crevasse in the region. But it is a high mountain, where the snow is wind packed and icy in its higher altitudes. In fact, you should expect different types of snow in different altitudes. We recommend ski touring of Damavand to those who are fit and have previous experience of winter ascents and ski mountaineering in lower mountains.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Tehran, Iran to Rineh, Iran
Transfer to the Hut Transfer from airport IKA to Tehran and Rineh (base camp of Damavand south face 2050m), short walk around, overnight in MFSI hut with private room and shower. Accommodation :Mountaining Complex Food service :B,L,D
Day 2: Rineh, Iran to Mount Damavand, Iran
Ski in Golezard Drive about 45 min from Rineh then climb up Golezard 3450m and ski down then back to Reineh hut. Golezard is one of the best places where you can take beautiful photos of west Face of Damavand. Accommodation :Mountaining Complex Food service :B,L,D
Day 3: Rineh, Iran to Lāsem, Iran
Ski in Doberar Driving to Lasem village (start point of Doberar mountain range) about 45 minutes. Full day skiing. peak Parvaneh 3950m. Drive back to Reineh Accommodation :Mountaining Complex Food service :B,L,D
Day 4: Rineh, Iran to Mount Damavand, Iran
High Camp 4200m Driving to about 2500m depends on snow. skin up to the high camp (Renew Bargah Sewom) about 4200m. We have about 4-6 hours climbing. Overnight in hut. (Renew Bargah is a very nice warm comfortable hut. wooden inside , mattress , table , kitchen , WIFI , hot water etc... Accommodation :Shelter / Hut Food service :B,L,D
Day 5: Mount Damavand, Iran
Acclimatization, climb to 4800m. ski down and overnight in hut. Accommodation :Shelter / Hut Food service :B,L,D
Day 6: Mount Damavand, Iran
Summit day Start climbing early in the morning about 5 am. We have about 6-8 hours climbing to the top. Skiing to the hut and back to the road where the cars will waiting for us. drive to Reineh. Overnight in Reineh hut Accommodation :Mountaining Complex Food service :B,L,D
Day 7: Rineh, Iran to Tehran, Iran
Rest and Relax Visit and swim in amazing mineral hot springs near Reineh take the local Kebab. Driving to Tehran and departure. Accommodation :NON Food service :B,L,D
