Eagle Hunting & Horseback Riding In Kyrygzstan
About this tour
Our trip is along the Silk Road includes Chui and Issyk-Kul provinces. The total distance of a trip is about ~690 km.
(Please see an attached pdf file of the route with a google link). We will go along the main highway (Bishkek-Tokmak-Kemin-Balykchy (A365)) through Boom gorge.
Salbuurun – traditional Kyrgyz hunting, combining horse, eagle and taigan- hunting hound. Traditional archery is also popular among the hunters. Ancient times hunting was a part of the livelihood, the number of getting known hunters made a joint group huntings and bring the stock for the whole community. A number of strict rules keep and protect nature and people. These days possible to join for real hunting in a wild.
Eagle hunting demonstration will show how to keep and make hunting with a Golden Eagle. Hunter will show the skills of a trained eagle on a rabbit or dummy
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan
There are plenty of routes for hiking and horseback riding. This is an ideal place for a short rest during the weekend. You will spend time in a cozy guesthouse where you can meet hospitable hosts and can taste tasty Kyrgyz homemade food.
Day 2: Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan to Song-Kul, Kyrgyzstan
having breakfast in the early morning in Bokonbaevo village -driving to the place (a bit far from the village) where our rider with horses (owned by locals) will be waiting for us -telling you about our horses and security measures on riding in the mountainous places and riding horses -coming back to the guesthouse and relaxing, having
Day 3: Song-Kul, Kyrgyzstan to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
• Last moments on the shore of Issyk Kul, we meet with a Berkutchi, an eagle hunter who will tell us about his passion and show his eagles and we will go with him to the hunting Then we visit the village of yurt makers and their workshops .Kyzyl-Tuu Lunch in Kochkor at a local family. •
