About this tour
In this exclusive tour we won’t take you to the popular touristic locations in Almaty region. Our team during the COVID-19 lockdown discovered 6 brand new locations and made a special tour for our guests. We called it «The Range of Mountains». This tour refuses the myth of the lifelessness and desertness of Kazakhstani nature. During the trip you won't worry about the pandemic: no people, no crowds, only you, nature, your guide and driver.
In 6 days we will visit real alpine meadows, spend the night under a starry sky in a wide variety of landscapes, overcome a spectacular pass, learn about some features of nomadic lifestyle, enjoy the
beauties of «Komirshi» and «Temirlik» gorges, we will see the beauty of «Tekes» high mountain
valley with its waterfall and soaring red-book birds. We will visit the lake «Bestyubinskoe», which spread among the five mountain hills in the channel of Charyn River.
It is worthwhile to note the opportunity to capture the “Lord of the sky” - Khan-Tengri peak (7010m) from the most advantageous angles with reflection in the salt lake «Tuzkol».
At the end of the tour, we offer a choice: enjoy the thermal hot springs in contrast after a cold mountain pass with a visit to the "Valley of Castles", or to see 4 beautiful canyons that differ in their structure and beauty.
Activities included
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Almaty, Kazakhstan to Kegen, Kazakhstan
On the first day we will visit the lake Bestyubinskoe. On the way to it we will stop for the lunch and pics next to the canyon "Black Rocks"
Day 2: Kegen, Kazakhstan to Tuyuk, Kazakhstan
On the second day we are going to Temirlik river's gorge. We will drive till the end of gorge and overcome the river 7 times.
Day 3: Tuyuk, Kazakhstan to Tekes Waterfall, Kazakhstan
On the day 3 we are going to Tekes high mountain valley. Tekes valley is worthable to visit by itself, but we will also see it's crazy beaty waterfal (with 30 min hike)
Day 4: Tekes Waterfall, Kazakhstan to Komirshi, Kazakhstan
On the day 4 we gonna visit Komirshi gorge. It it unique sunny and rocky place. The famous dinasour of Alamty region was found exactly in Komirshi gorge. In the end of the day we will move to Tuzkol salty lake. Early in the morning there will be a chance to take a pic of all highest peaks of Northern Tien Shan.
Day 5: Komirshi, Kazakhstan to Shonzhy, Kazakhstan
On the day 5 we will have a goal to overcome a high mountain pass (3040m) and stop in all beautiful locations to take pics. In the end of the day the tourist will choose to spend a night at the hot springs (hotel charge is not included to the price of the tour) or in a camping spot in the nearby warm and cozy canyon.
Day 6: Shonzhy, Kazakhstan to Almaty, Kazakhstan
On the way back home we will visit the Valley of Castes (if staying at the hot springs overnight) or 4 beautiful canyons (if staying at the Temirlik canyon at nigt).
