Excursion Into The Ancient Rock Fortress Of Sigiriya

Day 1: Kandy, Sri Lanka to Sigiriya, Sri Lanka

You are picked up at 6.00 a.m. from your residence in Kandy and drives straight away to the lion rock. You will visit the eight wonder of the world, which contains huge walls, water canals, security guard rooms, natural stoned arches, mirror stone and world famous Sigiri paintings. It is an isolated rock, Kingdom more than 200m in height. You have to spend more than two and half hours. Then your second destination is Dambulla cave temple, which is the largest and the best preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka. The caves were converted in to a temple complex by king Walagamba during the 1st century. There are about 153 Buddha status and murals, which covers 2100 square meters. You have to spend around one and half hours to cover entire temple complex. Final stop is Sri Muththu Mari Amman (kovil) hindu temple, which is the tallest and the most colorful hindu temple of the country.
