Fergana valley is the pearl of uzbekistan with the running water in the ariks (small stoned downlands in order to water your gardens). The travellers for a real authenticity will be very satisfied with this authenticity.
Day 1 Drive to Kokand, along the road yo will see a lot of fruit, vegetable and wheat fields. After having a fresh river fried fish with a nice salad made of cucmbers, tomatoes and onions, you will continue your way. You will visit the residence of Khudoyarkhan who was appinted to rule the country three times!!!The facade part is in the good condition and even some of the roos and the carts are still waiting for the ride. One of the mosque which is in the city is beautiful and returned into the museum of applied art where you can observe the techniques for making fabrics and decorating them through several centuries, wood curved stands for books, pencil boxes and many other things. Overnight will be in a nice, cosy hotel with the rooms decorated with the local fabric Ikat!
Day 2 Start the excursion in the biggest Factory of Silk production, where you can observe the whole process from silk worm till the ready made units of cloth, and, even, the carpets. The ladies spend up to seeral years making them by hands, keeping old traditions. There is a small house-museum of ikat as it was produced here in margilon by nearly every girl n a village. One family has decided to continue ancient craft of their desendents and opened a nice museum and ikat production. Drive to Rishtan Ceramic center and visit Famous Ceramic Center of Rustam Usmanov, the great ceramist well-known abroad and in the country. On the way back go to the local market and try national snack kurt and buy some bread! Arrive to Tashkent. The end of the tour.
