Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Andijan region, Uzbekistan

Having breakfast , transfer to railway station for train to Andizhan (Ozbekiston 7:55 a.m 14:11p.m). Met on arrival and begin sightseeing. Visit the hometown of Muhammad Zahiruddin Babur - the famous poet and commander, representative of the great dynasty of Tamerlane (gran grandson of Amir Timur), the founder of the Mogul Empire in India. See the Memorial park complex dedicated to Babur, located on Bagishamol hill at the south-east of Andijan. The park includes a house museum named after Babur which has a collection of rare exhibits, connected with Babur and Baburids’ life. Furthermore, in the museum, one can get acquainted with the Babur’s literature heritage. It should also be possible to see the Friday Mosque, said to be able to hold 10,000 people and to be 300 years old, and the city museum. If time allows a visit will also be made to Khunarmandchilik, an open-air museum where Uzbek craftsman practice their ancient crafts. Later in the day continue to Fergana and overnight in Ferghana.

Day 2: Fergana, Uzbekistan to Kokand, Uzbekistan

n the morning travel to Margilan (located 12 km from Fergana). Margilan has been famous for its wonderful and fine silks. Via the Great Silk Road traders brought Marghilanian silk to Baghdad, Cairo and Athens. It is still the most important silk production centre in Uzbekistan. Visit a workshop where original handmade methods of silk ikat production are still used. This is one of the best places that Ikat weaving still survives as in the old days. Visit the Yodigarlik silk processing factory and Saidahmad Hoja Ehsan Madrasa where famous velvet ikat, adras ikat, silk rugs and block print masters are still working like in the old days. If time allows, we will also visit famous local market in Margilan. In the afternoon proceed to Rishtan, a centre of unique ceramic production in Uzbekistan. Rishtan is one of the largest in Central Asia and manufactures unique glazed ceramics. You will visit a workshop of Rustam Usmanov, a famous master of blue ceramics. The mastery of his beautiful paintings and the richness of their pattern themes give a unique, hard-to-reproduce character to each of his works. They are some of the best pieces of Uzbekistan's decorative art. Here you will have an opportunity to see a master class of ceramic production and to create some pieces on your own. Return to Fergana for overnight or stay in Kokand.

Day 3: Kokand, Uzbekistan to Tashkent, Uzbekistan

This morning start excursion by visiting Kokand. Here you will see Khudayar Khan Palace with its wonderful decorated wooden architecture, Jommi Mosque, Narbutabey and Royal Cemetery and Khaidarov Workshop (museum of Kokand woodcraft). Continue to Khodjand via Andarkhan land border On arrival transfer to hotel .
