The Museum of Antiquity of Samarkand “Afrosiyab". Without knowledge, it has passed – there is no future. This museum will tell and show us the history of the origin and foundation of Samarkand, about its further history.

As a dessert, straight from the Museum of antiquity, I will open the doors to antiquity itself – the ruins of the settlement “Afrosiyab”. The most interesting fact is that there was no mention of the city of Afrosiyab.The locals named this place, believing in the legend of the existence of a huge city here, founded by the mythical king of Turan – Afrasiab. In fact, this is a settlement of pre-Mongol Samarkand. It was here that city life took place from the VI century BC until the destruction by the Mongols in 1220.

Hazrati Khizr Mosque. The mosque of the Prophet Khizr is the patron saint of travelers, the legendary owner of the "living water". According to legend, after the capture of Samarkand by Kutyiba's troops in 712, the Arabs tried to flood the city fortress by damming the Jui-Arzis canal.
