Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to White stupa, Ulziit, Mongolia

Our driver and guide will pick you up at an arranged time. Drive to Dundgovi province where the first fun begins. We will explore White Stupa- formation of rocky cliffs or a big limestone escarpment with a height of 200m and a length of 400m. • It is well worth the climb to the top during the sunset as it provides you with excellent views of the cliffs that are composed of different ores that when exposed to oxygen turn different colors. • Pictures will come out wonderfully as if you were on a different planet.

Day 2: White stupa, Ulziit, Mongolia to Yolin Am Ice Field, Mongolia

Today we will drive to South Gobi Province to explore the Yol Canyon. Yol means Lammergeier in English. It is an Old-World vulture; therefore, the name is often translated to Valley of the Vultures or Valley of the Eagles. We can ride a horse or hike along the canyon.

Day 3: Yolin Am Ice Field, Mongolia to Hongorïn Els, Mongolia

After breakfast, we will drive to Khongor Sand Dunes. On the way we will stop by the Bayandalai village for the lunch break. At the Dunes, the activities will include hiking or riding a camel on the sand dunes. Khongor Sand Dunes are the largest and most spectacular sand dunes in Mongolia. It is also known as the ‘singing dunes’, they are up to 800 m high, 20 km wide and about 100 km long. A hike to the top of the dunes will provide you indescribable views of the desert.

Day 4: Hongorïn Els, Mongolia to Flaming Cliffs, Mongolia

After breakfast, we will travel to Khavtsgait Valley and stop by one of the ancient rock arts found in Mongolia. These are full gallery of arts covering many culture and tradition from the Bronze Age. After that, we will visit to Meditation monastery. The monastery was restored recently by the initiative of the grandson of the famous Buddhist monk who used to live and meditate here. We will hear beautiful stories about how local people worship and support the monastery and the restoring of it. Here you may find your very own peace and release from stress. After that, we will drive to a nomadic family and have dinner with them and watch nomadic people’s prepared cultural presentation. Afterwards, we will visit at the well, which is the gathering of many families and herds.

Day 5: Flaming Cliffs, Mongolia to Gorkhi Terelj National Park, Улаанбаатар, Mongolia

After farewell with the family, we will go to the Flaming Cliffs- the paleontology site of late Crafeceous dinosaurs in the Gobi (145km driving), and optional activities would be search some fossils on our own. “Flaming Cliffs'' named for the red-orange sandstone which glows brilliantly at sunrise and sunset. Here was, in 1922 Dr. Roy Chapman Andrews and his exploration team from the American Museum of Natural History found the first nest of dinosaur eggs the world had ever seen. Afterwards, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar for 8 hours.

Day 6: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Hustain Nuruu - Biosphere Reserve - Hustai National Park, Mongolia

Today we have a long drive to Terelj National park takes 8-10 hours. Tomorrow morning on the way to Khustai National park we see the great statue of Chinggis Khan. This statue is not only the largest statue of Chinggis Khan in Mongolia but in the entire world. Its height is 40 meters (130 feet). From the visitor’s center, the top of the statue is accessible by elevator. Here we learn how and why Mongolians conquered the world in the 13th century. This vantage point provides great photo opportunities. Afterward, we will drive to Terelj National Park. Turtle Rock is the biggest animal-shaped unique rock located in the resort area and it looks identical to a giant turtle on a hill. Next sight is the Ariyabal Meditation temple. This is a very well known old temple standing in the middle of a mountain and the view from the temple is just amazing. The local people visit the center to offer their prayers and good wishes, and dreams.

Day 7: Hustain Nuruu - Biosphere Reserve - Hustai National Park, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

After breakfast, we will drive to Khustai National Park for wildlife viewing. This is the only place where you can see the Takhi or Przewalski wild horses, which were discovered at the end of the 19th century in Mongolia and have recently reintroduced to Mongolia in the Khustai Mountains. Here, we will search for the horses and view them and take pictures with them.
