GORKHI-TERELJ National Park is considered one of the most beautiful worth visiting places for travelers who wanted to rest in the surroundings near UB. If you like adventure activities such as hiking, horse and visiting nomad families, and staying overnight in traditional Ger dwellings within a short period, this is the real perfect place to visit.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Gorkhi Terelj National Park, Улаанбаатар, Mongolia
Our experienced guide and driver will you up from the hotel around 9 am and head straight to the statue of Genghis Khan that rises 132 feet (40 meters) in the air. Holding a golden whip in his right hand, he gazes out toward the distant horizon envisioning future conquest. You'll visit a small museum here and see the ancient collections. Next, we will visit Turtle Rock, a surprising granitic formation 24 meters high whose form reminds of a turtle. At around 1 pm, you will enjoy your lunch at a local yurt camp where you can also try on Mongolian costumes. In the afternoon, you will go on an excursion to the Aryapala Temple which is one of the very few meditation temples in Mongolia with a magnificently beautiful and calm location. After that, we will have dinner and stay overnight at Ger camp.
Day 2: Gorkhi Terelj National Park, Улаанбаатар, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
After breakfast, we will drive to the statue of Genghis Khan which rises 132 feet (40 meters) in the air. Holding a golden whip in his right hand, he gazes out toward the distant horizon envisioning future conquest. You'll visit a small museum here and see the ancient collections. After that, our trip continues to a 13th-century theme park- a micro kingdom with separate camps for Guards, Herders, Education, Craftsmen, shamans, and King’s assembly. We will visit and lunch at the King's palace and wear Mongolian Traditional costumes- it is the main attraction point of the theme park. After the trip, we will head back to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the hotel around 6 pm.
