Heritage & Archeology Tour In Kyrgyzstan

This tour will take you to UNESCO heritage sites of Kyrgyzstan.

On the first day we will visit archeological ruins of medieval towns on the Silk Road: Nevaket, Ak-Beshim and Balasagun (Burana). We will visit medieval towns with an archeologist who will shed light on the life in these once vibrant and diverse towns on the Great Silk Road.

We will explore the lost civilizations under our feet, delve into the richness of past cultures, religious diversity, and the mixture of languages which co-existed thanks to the amazing trade and exchange among different people.

Here you can imagine the bargaining of tradesmen, skilled craftsmen at work, noisy caravans made of camels approaching towns, people walking to temples and mosques to pray....

Next day we will head to Tash-Rabat, stone caravanserai hidden in deep mountains and a medieval town of Koshoi-Korgon in the heart of Tien-Shan mountains, Naryn province. Koshoi-Korgon city in At-Bashy valley existed between 8-14 centuries. It is most interesting historical and archeological site whose walls were preserved up to 5 meters in some spots and more. Tash-Rabat is a unique stone caravanserai, built in 11th century during the rule of Karakhanid dynasty and which served for traders as a safe place to rest until 14th cent. We will stay in a family-run guesthouse near Tash-Rabat, which is spectacular, wild, authentic and gives a feeling of time travel.

Then we will explore Saimaluu-Tash - the Art of ancient People (Accessible in August)

Reveal the secrets of ancient art in remote Saimaluu-Tash (embroidered rock) on a heritage tour. Saimaluu-Tash is a grandiose natural sanctuary containing one of the biggest collections of ancient rock paintings in the world. Here about 10,000 stones with petroglyphs have been identified.
