Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Elsen Tasarkhai (Sand Dune Mini Gobi), Högönö-Taranaiin-Hüree, Mongolia

Head to the west to visit Khugnu Tarna Nature Reserve, protects some endangered species of birds of prey and wolves. Three different nature zones are combined together in the same place and covers 49600hectars. When we reach to Khugnu Tarna NR, we will ride a Mongolian two humped camel.

Day 2: Elsen Tasarkhai (Sand Dune Mini Gobi), Högönö-Taranaiin-Hüree, Mongolia to Orkhon Valley, Mongolia

Drive to Orkhon Valley National Park which provide scenic views of green meadows, pine forest, streams and waterfall. The area is ideal for fishing, horseback riding, hiking and photography. Today, we’ll take an opportunity to visit yak herding nomads nearby Orkhon waterfall which was formed uniquely by volcanic lava streams and tumbles over the vertical drop into a deep canyon.

Day 3: Orkhon Valley, Mongolia to Khuisiin 8 Lake, Mongolia

After breakfast, meet the nomadic herders and horses who will be our companions during the 6 day horseback ride in Central Mongolia. We begin our equestrian adventure to Buurug Valley, which is the gate of the famous 8 lakes national park. Picnic lunch on the way, Once reaching the valley, we set up camp in the wilderness for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Khuisiin 8 Lake, Mongolia to shireet nuur Ширээт нуур 시레트 호수, Mongolia

After breakfast with lunchboxes packed we are matched with our horses again and head to 8 lakes national park, a typical landscape of forested mountains, lakes and plenty of streams. The park occupies an area of 11.500 hectares and taken under the state protection since 1992. On the following day, will resume the horse trekking to the largest and most beautiful lake of the 8 lakes “Shireet” to enjoy panoramic view of the magnificent lake and serene nature scenery. After dinner in the evening, you can enjoy magnificent views of the star laden skies.

Day 5: shireet nuur Ширээт нуур 시레트 호수, Mongolia to Khuisiin Naiman Lake, Mongolia

After breakfast, we continue our horse ride in the blue mountain pass. Enjoy our lunch on the way in a scenic mountain pass. After the ride in the evening, we set up our camp in the wilderness for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Khuisiin 8 Lake, Mongolia

Continue our equestrian adventure in the khangai mountain range of the famous Orkhon Valley. Upon arrival at Ogton Valley, we’ll erect our tent and enjoy dinner.

Day 7: Khuisiin 8 Lake, Mongolia to Orkhon River, Mongolia

After breakfast, we ride to Okrhon river where the landscape becomes wilder and wider. This region has black ancient lava flows which contrast with the white running water of the Orkhon River and remind us Mongolia's volcanic past. Picnic lunch. After the ride, we set up camp in the wilderness for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Orkhon River, Mongolia to Orkhon Waterfall, Burgaasatayn Hiid, Mongolia

Continue our horse trekking back to Orkhon waterfall. On the way we’ll enjoy beautiful scenery and take a picnic lunch at a great place and arrive at the place to stay at any time of the day.

Day 9: Orkhon Waterfall, Burgaasatayn Hiid, Mongolia to Kharkhorin, Mongolia

Head to Kharkhorin village, an ancient capital of the Great Mongolian Empire, one of the most popular tourist destinations. Upon arrival in the village, we'll visit the earliest surviving monastery “Erdene Dzuu”, constructed with stones nearby ruins of the ancient Mongolian capital of Kharakhorum in 1586 by Abtai Sain King. The Monastic complex was also inscribed on the List of World Heritage in 2004 as a part of the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape. Before heading our accommodation, we’ll enjoy some exhibits and artifacts in Kharkhorum museum.

Day 10: Kharkhorin, Mongolia to Khustai Mountains Camp, Mongolia

we will visit Hustai National Park where takhi wild horses were reintroduced from Netherland since 1992. When reaching the destination, have a brief introduction of the takhi horse and biodiversity of Hustai National Park and continue the driving to the habitat of the last surviving subspecies of wild horse “Takhi” to explore.

Day 11: Khustai Mountains Camp, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
