Jeep Tour To Kolsay And Kaindy Lakes In Almaty Region

On the first day we will drive toward the lake Kaindy. On the way we will move along the bottom of the ancient sea - the Syugatinsky valley, then overcome Kokpek and Alasa passes, see the amazing volcanic mountains Toraigyr (wild stallion from kaz lang) and Boguty.

From Kazakh language Kaindy means «birchy». To check is it true or not we will pass the biggest in all Tien Shan birch grove on the way to the lake and stop there to take pics. In the end of the day we will enjoy the beauty of Kaindy. The formation of this lake is associated with an earthquake in early 1920th. In that time the section of gorge was flooded but spruces didn`t die but remained standing as the eternal guardians in the water.

In the end of the day we will move towards Kolsay lakes. The place to spend a night provides to the tourist: camping spot next to the Kolsay lake (camping equipment and food is include to the price) or hotel/guest house in the nearby village Saty (hotel charge is not included to the price of the tour, you will have to pay for it post factum 23-25 usds p.p)

On the day 2 we will enjoy the views of the real pearls of entire Northern Tien Shan – Kolsay lake. We will hike around it and take amazing pics. On the way back to Almaty we will visit the younger brother of Colorado Grand Canyon – the famous «Valley of Castles» and walk to it`s junction with Charyn river.

This is the program of 2 days tour. It can be customized to 3 days to see the 2nd Kolsay lake (There are 3 Kolsay lakes, second needs long hike to see it, third is unfortunately closed for tourists)
