K-2 Base camp Gondogoro la trek gives one of the greatest and loveliest mountain panoramas on earth. In a small area, there are four peaks above 8000 meters are nestled beside hundreds of peaks of varying altitude and beauty. The scenery here truly cannot be matched anywhere else in the world. The climax of the trek is the crossing of the Gondogoro La to enter the Hushe valley to take the return road journey to Islamabad. With the logistic support of Balti porters, the trek becomes a mixture of natural and cultural
splendors.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Islamabad international airport, Islamabad, Pakistan to Islamabad, Pakistan
Arrive at the airport and then transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in hotel at Islamabad.
Day 2: Islamabad, Pakistan to Skardu Airport, Skardu
Early morning flight to Skardu (flights are subject to weather), if unable to fly we will depart for Skardu by road with an overnight stay at Chilas.
Day 3: Chilās to Skardu
In case of flight has operated we will go for a sightseeing tour of Skardu and in case no flight, the day will be used for overland travel from Chilas to Skardu. Overnight stay in hotel at Skardu
Day 4: Skardu
Sightseen in Skardu final packing for the Expedition
Day 5: Skardu to Skardu Valley, Skardu
After breakfast drive towards Askole via 4x4 Jeeps, Askole is the last village of Shigar Valley. night camping at Askoli
Day 6: Skardu
Trek to the Dumurdo river cross at Jhula, (Jhula means wire Rope-Bridge supported by a wooden basket); now a day wooden bridge has been built to cross it. Camping at askole.
Day 7: Skardu
Jhula - Paiju 6/7 Hrs Trek at The Base of Baltoro Glacier, Paiju means SALT inlocal language. campping
Day 8: Skardu
Rest day at paiju, paiju peak base camp walk is optional
Day 9: Skardu to Urdukas, Pakistan
PAIJU-URDUKAS 8/9 Hrs- ALT 4200 MTS After trekking for about 2hrs You will reach the snort of Baltoro Glacier. camping at Urdukas.
Day 10: Skardu
URDUKAS - GORE II 6/7 Hrs - alt 4500 mts TODAY walk will be rewarded by views Mashabrum 7821m, Gashabrum range peaks, and some other beautiful peaks. camping at goro II.
Day 11: Skardu
After an early breakfast, we will resume a long trek on the Baltoro Glacier to a point called Concordia – at 4000 meters, is a base camp for all Karakorum peaks.
Day 12: Skardu
free day to explore K2 base camp and broad peak (4 hrs up 3 hrs down) after an early breakfast, resume your walk to K2 Base Camp and visit Memorial lunch at K2 base camp and back to Concordia.
Day 13: Skardu
Concordia – Ali camp 4/5 hrs.After an early breakfast, we will leave the Concordia for Ali Camp. ali camp is near to Ghandogoro la.
Day 14: Skardu to Hushe
ALI CAMP – GONDOGORO PASS – KHUSPAN 8/9 HRS We start our trek/climb the pass in the middle of the night to get the benefit of the hard Ice. rope are fixed on both sides of GGL pass also there are the rope fixed team at the top of GGL. the guide better during descend ghandogoro la. after descend GGL walk to khuspang camp ,Laila peak view point.
Day 15: Hushe
Khuspang - Saicho ( 06 – 07 hrs), After a couple of minutes of easy walk we will come onto the glacier. We will pick our way across moving boulders and ice, and finally crossing the glacier up to the camping site we will reach Shaicho.
Day 16: Hushe River Valley, Saling
SAICHO – HUSHE – MACHULO ‘3/4 hrs walk continue on the Hushe village and later continue to Machulo via 4x4 jeeps. stay and dine at Felix guest house Machulo.
Day 17: Hushe to Skardu
MACHULO – SKARDU drives back to Skarduand debriefing at Tourism Office arrive and transfer to hotel overnight at hotel, Skardu.
Day 18: Skardu to Shangrila Chilas Hotel, Chilās
Early morning drive for Chilas. On arrival transfer to hotel and check-in. Overnight stay in a hotel at Chilas
Day 19: Shangrila Chilas Hotel, Chilās to Islamabad, Pakistan
After breakfast, we will depart for Islamabad via babusar pass. On arrival transfer to hotel, overnight stay in a hotel in Islamabad.
Day 20: Islamabad, Pakistan
