Machulo La trek is the most affordable, easiest and short scheduled trek for viewing the K2, Gasherbrum range’s mountains and some other mountains of Karakorum’s range. In addition there are excited views of District Ghanche her Glaciers and the very natural beauty of Panoramic view of Karakoram Mountains from Machulo la.
This trek is best and short place with suitable conditions for national and international Trekkers, for university students’ trip etc. Having just a view of K-2 required three days of walking.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: lslamabad International Airport, Islamabad, Pakistan to Envoy Continental Hotel, Islamabad, Pakistan
Reception at Islamabad airport and transfer to Hotel
Day 2: Islamabad, Pakistan to Shangrila Chilas Hotel, Chilās
early morning - Drive towards Chilas via Babusar pass. Stay and dine at Shangri-la Hotel or any other comfortable hotel.
Day 3: Shangrila Chilas Hotel, Chilās to Skardu
after breakfast drive towards Skardu, Skardu sightseeing tour. Stay and dine at the hotel in Skardu.
Day 4: Skardu to Felix Guest House, Machlu
Skardu to Machulo by Car. and Visit Saling Spangtoq, a famous tourist point in Khaplu. and drive to machulo which is located in hushe valley. Hushe valley is famous for its highest mountains. There are many sub-valleys which are Gondogoro, Charkusa, Nagma, Nanbroq, and Masherbrum. This valley surrounds several peaks above six thousand meters including Laila peak, K6, K7. Murtaza peak is 5100m just behind K6 Basecamp and is considered the epicenter of trackers and beginners. The Hushe Valley runs from Masherbrum Mountain (at 7,821 meters, 24th highest in the world) south to the Shyok River, opposite Khaplu. Hushe valley is one of the beautiful valleys of the Ghanche districts.
Day 5: Felix Guest House, Machlu to K2 view point Machulo La, Khaplu
Starting from Felix guest House after breakfast easy trek to Khadi Broq is a 3/4 hours trek from Felix Guest House. Camp II Felix guest House is the viewpoint of Haldi Cones and the Mashabrum Peak (7,821m) is also known as K-1 and K1 is the 22nd highest mountain in the world. (Note: please don't confuse by the location point" k2viewpoint ")
Day 6: Felix Guest House, Machlu to K2 view point Machulo La, Khaplu
Camp I - Camp II starts the early morning after Breakfast, treks towards next camp which is 4 hours normally from camp -1 (Khadi brow) and 4200m altitude over there at Camp II. On the way, you will see the most powerful animal of the Mountains (Yak, Zoo) and some others like (Cows, goats, sheep, etc.). In the way of camp II, you will see the local people stay with their castles and theaaq2y produce cheese and butter on daily basis. NOTE: (Please don't confuse with the location or k2 viewpoint repeated, 'due to no any exact location in map ,so we use this location )
Day 7: K2 view point Machulo La, Khaplu to Felix Guest House, Machlu
camp II – View point – Machulo Early morning hike towards View Point (5200 altitude), 1 hour from camp-II. From this ViewPoint You can see The panoramic view of Karakorum mountains and some most famous mountains Like K-2 (Chogho-ri ) 8,611m, Borad Peak(8,051m), Nanga Parbat(8,126m), Gashabrum-I (8,080m), Gashabrum-II(8,035m) these are the top five (8000+) Mountains of Pakistan. There are some other peaks Mashabrum, G-IV, G-III etc. From this view point you can also see the amazing view of Khaplu Valley, glaciers & green pastures of district Ghanche. After spending 3 or 4 hours here at this view point back to machulo village.
Day 8: Felix Guest House, Machlu to Skardu
Machulo – Hidden Chumik saling – Skardu After relax breakfast visit ‘Hidden chumik’ (fish pound) Saling, 20 mins from Felix guest house Machulo. This is the most famous tourist point of district Ghanche for local and foreign tourists. Here you can see the different types of fish, cricket ground and green land. After visiting this beautiful place we go towards our next destination which is Skardu. Stay and dine in Skardu at Concordia Hotel or Mountain lodge hotel.
Day 9: Skardu to Chilās
Back to Chilas via Gilgit Skartdu Road
Day 10: Chilās to Islamabad, Pakistan
