Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Oskemen, Kazakhstan to Zarech'ye, Bystrukha, Kazakhstan
Guests are welcomed upon arrival in Ust-Kamenogorsk — whether by plane or train — and transferred to Park-Hotel "Zarechye," a peaceful eco-retreat nestled in the landscapes of the Altai region. After check-in and settling into your room or private cottage, guests are invited to enjoy a hearty meal at the hotel’s restaurant, offering seasonal and locally sourced cuisine. Depending on your arrival time and energy levels, you can explore the property with a guided tour that includes visits to our working farm, greenhouse, and traditional bathhouse complex. There's also time to relax, stroll through nature, or simply enjoy the tranquil setting. In the evening, enjoy a warm welcome dinner and unwind by the campfire — a perfect start to your Altai journey.
Day 2: Zarech'ye, Bystrukha, Kazakhstan
After a nourishing breakfast, guests meet their local instructor for a guided trek to the scenic “Sopka Tyoplaya” viewpoint. This 7-kilometre trail of moderate difficulty winds through a beautiful mixed forest and leads to a stunning panorama overlooking the Zarechye valley and the confluence of surrounding rivers. Along the way, you may spot unique flora native to Eastern Kazakhstan. Following your return to the hotel and a well-deserved lunch, the adventure continues with an exciting ATV tour to "Bear Mountain". Accompanied by an experienced guide, you’ll journey deep into the forest on a 25-kilometre route that ends at a breathtaking high-altitude viewpoint. The ride includes a stop near a rustic beekeeper’s cabin by a clear mountain stream — a perfect moment to connect with nature. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy: relax in the riverside beach area or simply unwind in the peaceful atmosphere of the Altai. In the evening, savour a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Day 3: Zarech'ye, Bystrukha, Kazakhstan to Ridder, Kazakhstan
After breakfast, the day begins with a scenic transfer towards the town of Ridder, heading deep into the mountainous landscapes of Eastern Kazakhstan. The route winds through dense taiga forests and alpine valleys until reaching the village of Poperechnoe. From there, an off-road jeep ascent begins, following an old Soviet-era geological road — a rugged but rewarding climb across steep slopes and mountain streams. At the summit (1,900 metres above sea level), you'll discover Radon Lake — a striking turquoise alpine lake rich in minerals. Surrounded by cedar forest and cascading waterfalls, it’s a breathtaking setting ideal for photography, quiet reflection, and nature walks. Enjoy a packed lunch in nature before taking part in a guided excursion to historical adits — mysterious Soviet-era mining tunnels carved into the mountainside. Afterwards, guests can spend free time hiking or relaxing near the lake. In the late afternoon, return to Park-Hotel "Zarechye." Unwind with a traditional sauna session, followed by a hearty dinner at the hotel restaurant — the perfect way to end an adventurous day in the wild Altai. Please note: Due to weather and road conditions, access to Radon Lake is typically possible from mid-June onward. In case of difficult terrain, this excursion may be replaced with an alternative scenic destination in the region, offering no less beauty or experience.
Day 4: Zarech'ye, Bystrukha, Kazakhstan to Oskemen, Kazakhstan
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel restaurant and take in your final moments surrounded by the tranquillity of the Kazakh Altai. After check-out, a private transfer will take you to the airport or railway station in Ust-Kamenogorsk for your onward journey. Whether you're heading to Almaty or continuing your adventure elsewhere in Kazakhstan, you'll leave with unforgettable memories of the landscapes, nature, and warm hospitality of Eastern Kazakhstan.
