Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: almaty to Charyn
Drive to Charyn canyon and Kaindy lake. Lunch and dinner in Saty. Overnight in guest house in Saty.
Day 2: Kolsay Lakes to Karakol, Kyrgyzstan
Drive to Kolsay lake. Walking around the lake and departure to Karakol via Kegen border. City tour in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan:Unique mosque. Holy Trinity Orthodox Church. Overnight in homestay.
Day 3: Karakol to Zhety-Oguz
Jeti-Oguz gorge (beautiful view of mountains). Then visiting Dungan (smal population in Kyrgyzstan) village and some culinary lesson. Overnight at yurt.
Day 4: Zhety-Oguz to Barskoon Waterfalls
Drive to Bokonbaev village on the way we stoped Borskoon waterfall. Then drive and walk Skazka gorge. Dinner and overnight in Bokonbayev yurt.
Day 5: Barskoon Waterfalls to Bokonbaev Yurt Camp
Breakfast will be served in traditional way in one of the yurts, where you will try Kyrgyz national food. The rest of the day you will spend in the Yurt camp, where you can learn about the yurt installation process. A local Kyrgyz woman will tell you the meaning of each part of the yurt and treat it with freshly baked “boorsoks” and fragrant tea. (Optional to arrange demonstration of Yurt installation where you can even participate). In Bokonbay village You will have the chance to meet experienced berkutchi, who will share the story of hunting with golden eagles, their habits and features. Demonstration of the eagle hunting can be arranged for tourists for an additional fee. You will have national food for the dinner. Overnight in Yurt Camp.
Day 6: Bokonbaev Yurt Camp to Bishkek
Drive to Bishkek.On the way to Bishkek, you will drive through Boom Gorge canyon along the Chu river with views of the mountains in the distance. Anytime you can ask driver to stop and make pictures. On the way we will visit Burana Tower an ancient minaret, recognised as UNESCO Heritage. Rest of day city tour in Bishkek and overnight in hotel.
Day 7: Bishkek
After breakfast you will continuew with Bishkek city tour. Historical museum, Old Square, the famous Artists Alley, Ala - Archa National Park. The famous place in Bishkek, where usually the president of Kyrgyzstan hosts the guests (Presidents and Prime-Ministers) Back to Hotel (dinner and overnight).
Day 8: Bishkek to Almaty
Pick up from the hotel in Bishkek and drive to Almaty. The road will take about 3-4 hours. Check in and get lunch. Then city tour in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The most famous sights - Medeu ski ring, Green Bazaar, Koktobe. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
