Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Dayan Lake, Mongolia
Take a flight from Ulaanbaatar to Olgii. At airport meet up with your crew. Afterwards we head out to Dayan lake. It is about 160km, 6-7 hours of drive. We pitch our tent on the shore of Dayan lake. Its water crystal clear alpine lake elevated 2232m from sea level. It is recognized by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area since 2009. It is located in the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park.
Day 2: Dayan Lake, Mongolia
Today after breakfast we will visit Eagle hunter’s family. Our Kazakh eagle hunter will show us his magnificent bird of prey Golden Eagle. Get familiar with a Kazakh nomadic way of life, their eagles and about hunting, of course try traditional foods. At sunset we will have the eagle hunters on horseback with their golden eagles, and we have a variety of photo shoots and portrait sessions. Stay in Kazakh ger.
Day 3: Baga turgen khurkheree, Mongolia to Khoton Lake, Mongolia
Drive to Baga Turgen’s. The height of the waterfall is 15m and located in the Baga Turgen valley. It is about 3km and we will hike around 3hours in total. Very enjoying scenery with Snow Capped Altai Mountains. We will camp on the shore ot Khoton lake. In the evening make bonfire. Try dairy products and experience their nomadic way of life. 80km. Camping on the shore of Khoton lake.
Day 4: Khoton Lake, Mongolia to Ulgii Central Mosque, Ulgii, Mongolia
Drive back to Olgii. On the way we will see Khoton and Khurgan lakes, located in an intermountain tectonic depression in the northern part of Mongol Altai mountain range and joined by a 3km long and 100-150 m wide channel called Sirgali. We will drive through Khovd Gol valley all the way to Tsengel soum. Afterwards we continue drive to Olgii. In Olgii city we will visit Central Mosque and local Black market called Bazar. Stay in hotel.
Day 5: Ölgii Airport, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Transport to local airport of Olgii. Flight to Ulaanbaatar.
