Masoor Rock Short Trek

he Marsur Rock Trek in Hussainabad was first discovered by local photographers while capturing the stunning landscapes of the Hussainabad mountains. Located just beyond Skardu, along the road to Khaplu, Hussainabad serves as the starting point for this thrilling trek. The journey begins with a scenic drive up a winding road on the outskirts of the town, followed by an hour-long hike through lush greenery. Afterward, the trail becomes steeper, requiring about an hour to ascend. As you continue, the path levels out, leading you to an extraordinary and expansive sloping stone. In 2018, Marsur Rock gained widespread attention when local photographers noticed its striking resemblance to the iconic Trolltunga in Norway. Trolltunga, a horizontal rock formation perched at an elevation of approximately 1,100 meters in Vestland County, Norway, extends dramatically over the mountain, about 700 meters above the northern side of Lake Ringedalsvatnet. The similarity between Marsur Rock and Trolltunga is truly remarkable, with both formations sharing nearly identical shapes and sizes. The panoramic view from and around the rock is breathtaking, offering sweeping vistas of the Indus River, Skardu City, Hussainabad, the Cold Desert, and Kharphocho Forts, all captured in one awe-inspiring scene.
