Since 2012 he has been working as a climber for Mongolia tourism companies. We will climb any peak in Mongolia according to your choice and ensure your safety. I can offer not only climbing, but also organize your trip. It includes trekking, horseback riding and visit nomadic eagle hunter's family. Please let me know your arrival date and duration. I will create your ideal tour plan.
Fly to Ulgii in the early morning and drive to the White River Valley, Altai Tavan Bogd NP. (Olgii citi to White river valley 180km). You'll make camp under the expansive sky, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Altai region. This overnight camping experience marks the beginning of your immersive trek in the White River Valley.
Embark on an exhilarating hike through the rugged mountainous terrain, ascending toward the Tavanbogd base camp. (White River Valley treking to Tavanbogd base camp 16km).The journey is made more seamless as all luggage and equipment are skillfully transported by camels under the care of Tuvan herders. Halfway to the camp you will see the Potanin and Alexander glaciers as well as the highest peaks: Khuiten peak (4374m), Nairamdal peak (4082m), Eagle peak (4071m), Malchin peak (4050m), and Ulgii peak (4113m). This evening we camp at 2900m.
Embark on a challenging yet rewarding ascent to Malchin, the smallest of the five peaks, standing proudly at 4,050 meters. The journey begins with a scenic hike along the Potanin glacier for an hour, immersing yourself in the breathtaking landscapes. As you commence the climb up Malchin, the ridge line straddles the Russian border, offering awe-inspiring views of the Potanin glacier, snow-capped peaks, and glimpses into the vastness of Russia.
Today we will trek on the glacier to the high camp of KHuiten peak (ABC). ABC will be strategically established below the eastern face of Khuiten. There are a few crevasses so we will need to rope up and wear crampons for the glacier traverse. Reaching the camp normally takes about 6 hours in good weather. 2 local porters will carry camp equipment and food to ABC and return to BC. If necessary they can as well shuttle more supplies during the climbing days ahead.
Climb the Mt.Khuiten or Nairamdalr peak of your choice. Alpine start is preferrable. The actual ascent, while technically moderate, demands four hours of dedicated effort. As you ascend, the summit of Khuiten rewards your perseverance with breathtaking panoramic views into China, Russia, and the neighboring snow-capped ridges.
Return hike down to base camp. Again we rope up and cross the Potanin glacier. Quite often if the summit is reached early enough we descend to the base camp the same day thus saving an overnight on the glacier ice.
Hike back to your camp in the White River Valley. This gradual journey provides a unique opportunity to witness the transformation of the initial stream of glacial dust into the mighty White River, fed by the Potanin glacier. As you navigate the path downward, take in the beauty of the changing landscapes, savoring the sense of accomplishment from the summit and the unique perspectives offered on the return journey. The night promises another serene camping experience in the White River Valley, where the tranquil surroundings echo the wonders of nature.
We say "good bye" to our Tuvan friends and take a 7 hour drive back to Ulgii. On the way return drive with a pause to visit an Eagle hunter's family, delving into the traditional art of hunting with eagles. Experience firsthand the rich tradition and bond between the hunters and their majestic eagles.Tonight stay at local hotel in Ulgii town. Hot shower and cold beers will highlight the day.
