Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Surabaya, Indonesia to Mount Bromo, Indonesia
Your journey begins with a late-night or early-morning pick-up from Surabaya or Malang. You’ll head straight to the Bromo area and switch to a 4WD jeep to reach Mount Penanjakan, the famous viewpoint. Here, you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise over Mount Bromo, with a panoramic view of the Tengger Caldera and surrounding volcanoes. After sunrise, you'll drive across the Sea of Sand and hike up to the Bromo Crater. The morning ends with a local breakfast before continuing the drive to Bondowoso or Banyuwangi to rest and prepare for the next adventure.
Day 2: Mount Bromo, Indonesia to Ijen, Indonesia
Around midnight, you'll begin the drive to the Ijen Crater basecamp. From there, start your guided hike up the volcano to catch the rare and mesmerizing blue fire phenomenon, visible only before sunrise. Afterward, as daylight breaks, enjoy the view of the turquoise acid lake and watch local miners at work. Once you descend, you'll be transferred back to your hotel or to your next destination, wrapping up an unforgettable 2-day adventure.
